Publisher's summary

Best-selling author Scott Hahn sheds new light on the Mass, offering readers a deeper appreciation of the most familiar of Catholic rituals.

Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "heaven on earth", explaining that what "we celebrate on earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy."

The Lamb's Supper reveals a long-lost secret of the Church: The early Christians' key to understanding the mysteries of the Mass was the New Testament Book of Revelation. With its bizarre imagery, its mystic visions of heaven, and its end-of-time prophecies, Revelation mirrors the sacrifice and celebration of the Eucharist.

Beautifully written, in clear direct language, best-selling Catholic author Scott Hahn's new book will help readers see the Mass with new eyes, pray the liturgy with a renewed heart, and enter into the Mass more fully, enthusiastically, intelligently, and powerfully than ever before.

Critic reviews

"Hahn's enthusiasm...is considerable - and infectious. Furthermore, he delivers his arguments with great levity (demonstrated in chapter titles such as "Oath Meal"), which makes The Lamb's Supper quite a tasty read." (Amazon.com review)

Beautiful

As a convert to the Catholic faith myself I have thoroughly enjoyed this reading of The Lamb’s Supper by the author himself. It has been so enlightening as well as introspective. I plan to listen again.

A book for Catholics and non Catholics

The Lamb's Supper is a detailed book about the Mass. The details in the book are backed up by scripture, that is referenced quite often. I LOVED that Scott Hahn referenced scripture, because it is difficult for anyone, Christian, Catholic or another belief to refute the significance and truth of the meaning behind Mass. I have been a Catholic for 21 years, and I learned so much from this book. Thank you, Scott Hahn, for deepening my knowledge of the Catholic Mass.

It is finished - What is 'It'?"

Where does The Lamb's Supper rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As a book on religion, this is one of the best books that I have listened to. Many Catholics are unaware of the scriptural foundation of the Mass. This book highlights this direct connection and helps to understand why we do what we do. As a former Protestant Scott Hahn gives a much needed perspective - that of a sceptical opponent. This should inspire all Catholics to know more about their faith and appreciate the rich scriptural traditions of our Christian faith.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lamb's Supper?

A simple statement turned question. When on the cross Jesus says,

Have you listened to any of Scott Hahn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have also listened to a short excerpt from this book called the Fourth Cup. It's only about an hour long and gets right to the point.

Any additional comments?

I encourage not only Catholics but Protestants also to listen. This deals with the major difference between our Christian beliefs - The Eucharist (Holy Communion). It's a shame that we share so many common beliefs and yet we feel so far apart. Perhaps more understanding on all of our part will help us come together. We all love Christ :)

Book of Revelations comes alive.

Come to understand where Mount Zion meets Heaven in the Mass everyday. The Vail is torn apart and the altar is revealed.
