A good start

Nice overview and beginning jump into reiki. Definitely a nice place for beginners to dip in to.

Great Overview for Beginners and the Curious

I found this audiobook to be a great summary of what exactly Reiki is. After hearing about this for years, I decided to listen to this book to get a better understanding. Not only did I think the author did a great job, but I'm now even more interested in the topic.
The book was also only about an hour in length, making it great for a weekend trip or morning commute.

The narrator did a great job as well.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

This book is great for future practitioners

I like the disclaimer at the beginning of the book. Though I believe in alternative practices I know medical intervention is sometimes necessary for an overall healthy lifestyle. I own a few Reiki book's and I have to say for a short overview of the history, explanation of the process, and benefits of the practice this book is the best I've listened to so far. Coupled with is wonderful narration, it's certainly more than a 5 star listen. I was given this review copy at no cost to me and have voluntarily decided to not only recommend this book but also leave this review.

Basic Info

Good basic info for people without knowledge of Reiki. If you’re familiar with Reiki, may be too basic for your needs.

A good overview of a controversial therapy.

Would you listen to The Healing Energy of Reiki again? Why?

No........but it is a good explanation of this practice. Medical science has not proven that this
therapy is effective beyond a placebo effect.However that does not mean there may not be
a benefit to some patients.

Summary of Reiki

This was an interesting read filled with good info for people who don't know much about Reiki. That was the case for me when I asked a friend who is a practitioner of Reiki for more information. It's clearly written, gives a clearly defined overview of Reiki and is helpful enough to increase interest in the field. However, if you are skeptical of such alternative medicines, this book is unlikely to change your mind.

The narration was neither good nor bad. It was compelling enough to keep my mostly interested in the subject matter. It was pretty flat though and I could feel my attention drifting at times.
