This is a live presentation, not an audiobook.

This is a short live presentation, NOT an audiobook as marketed. I'm assuming the book has more information not contained in this presentation. I expect an audiobook to be a reading of the book, not a shortened version of the highlights of the book. I'm disappointed.

Not the full book

This is not the full book! This is only a 1-hr lecture about the principles contained in the book. It's a good lecture, but was disappointed because I thought I was buying the full book.

Good sermon, but was hoping for the book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The book really helped me a lot. Was hoping to listen to the book, but this was a recorded sermon. The sermon was good. However, just not what I was expecting to hear when purchasing. I thought this would be a reading of the book... which I've been waiting for for years. If anyone knows how to get the reading of the book, please let me know.

What could William Backus and Marie Chapian have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Provide a reading of the actual book.

Not the book!!!

The info is good, however this is not a reading of the book. It is conference lecture lasting only an hour. Very disappointed in how this is labeled.

Oh great teaching on how the truth can set us free

Dycus does a great job of presenting an outline that’s easy to follow and has tremendous stories. This is a quick listen only an hour but amazing truth and clarity about how thinking evolves into emotions. I would highly recommend this to any thinking Christian

Telling yourself the truth in brief

What did you like best about Telling Yourself the Truth? What did you like least?

This audible book is too short to do any justice to the written book. The written book is filled with good, solid advice. The type of advice one would want to listen to over and over again as gentle reminders. The audible book was a disappointment. I would not have bought it had I known.

Would you be willing to try another book from William Backus and Marie Chapian ? Why or why not?

Absolutely would. Their books are very good.

What about William Backus’s performance did you like?

The information given

Did Telling Yourself the Truth inspire you to do anything?

Yes, it inspired me to re-read the book.

Any additional comments?

Read the book. It really is very good.

Not a book but an incomplete lecture

This is presented as a book but it's actually a single lecture and the topic, while very interesting, is only introduced, not really explored.

Publishers summary misleading !!!

No where in the summary does is describe anything about religion. Unfortunately, that's what this is about. I was not looking for nor expecting this. Very disappointed.

Good message - awful sound!

This is NOT an audio version of the book. It is a speech given by William Backus. I feel cheated as I thought it WAS the audio version of the book.

The recording is poor and Wm Backus's voice is sometimes too loud and, to me, very annoying. The content is very good but, compared with the book, very, very short. Perhaps it is a good introduction to the book.

I cannot recommend it. I think Audible should make it clear that it is NOT an audio version of the book. The quality of the recording and voice is so annoying that I could not listen again.
