Publisher's Summary

I learned something very valuable in a silent season, and that is that I shouldn't be trying to build something when I was supposed to be cultivating my spirit. I was supposed to use that season to spend time with God, grow, and rest in him - not step out on faith and try to do something out of his timing. How many of us are making "faith moves" when we are supposed to be resting? You will find yourself tired because you built something that wasn't even for you.

Are you going through a silent season in your life right now? Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like doors keep closing but nothing is opening in your life? Do you feel rejected or forgotten? Do you feel like you can no longer hear the voice of God or like life has handed you a bad deck of cards? If so, this book is for you. In Silent Seasons: Trusting God When You Don't Understand, Heather Lindsey shares how silent seasons are an opportunity to grow closer to the Father. In this book you will learn:

  • How to stay strong in the midst of tests and trials
  • How to avoid comparing your life to others
  • How to be faithful with small
  • How to stretch your faith to do what God is telling you to do

Get ready to walk out this silent season like never before!

Returned the audiobook but will get the paperback

The reading wasn't good in my opinion. It didn't feel natural and was distracting. I tried to speed it up which helped a bit but it didn't help what felt like a forced emotional read.

I ditched this audiobook but will get the actual book. The author is a great public speaker and I love her messages.

Very helpful

I didn't really know I needed this book at this moment. It has helped me to accept and come to grips with the season I am facing and precious ones. I know that in upcoming silent seasons I will be more prepared as to how I should handle because of the personal insight and reflection that Heather is able to portray. I appreciate her honest transparency and ability to communicate how to get through a silent season without being frustrated about it. If you are not in a silent season now I suggest you read it because there will come a point in time that you will need it.

Silent Seasons identifying the Storm & Steps out of the Storm

When you are consciously aware of your season but you have no name for it. When you seek the word and you have hobbled together scriptures and sermons to guide you but you are still missing something. As the days turn into weeks and the weeks into months then you look up and 7 years have passed and you still are in the mist of the storm and it’s become a never-ending hurricane.

One day you cry out to the Lord and you keep crying out asking for direction.

In his time not your own you, he will send you a word so plain and directed at you you cannot hide from the message. Heather Lindsey’s Silent Seasons: Trusting God When You Don’t Understand is the book for you.

This book delivered a message to me and gave me a name for this season. Silence. All this time I needed to get quieter and closer to God. I needed to trust him, really trust him not lip service trust real trust.

If you are truly going through a silent season every point she makes in this book rings true of some time in your life. Her message resonates deeply not just with your mind or spirit but your soul.

I am sure many will think this a stupid review and it’s just flattery but that isn’t my truth and will not be for the people truly in their silent season.

If you are confuse or struggling in a period of your life and need direction this book is what you need.

Warning you may ...no will not like the instructions/ steps you need to take. We all have free will either follow what she says or not. Since we all have free will it’s up to you if you choose to journey through this silent season and go to the next season.
Last, this is best audible book I have ever listen to; because the author narrated the book and the performance is stellar. 🙌🏾
Thank you Heather Lindsey your message was truly God sent, blessings and good tidings for you and your family. 🙏🏾

A true message from God

What did you like most about Silent Seasons?

The best thing about Silent Seasons was the sequencing of the book - the titles of the chapters made the content extremely clear as well as enticing. Each of the chapters targeted key points without waffling and I love the balance of scriptures with personal anecdotes from Heather.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Seasons?

One of the most memorable moments of Silent Seasons is when Heather described how she felt as a young woman, alone in New York, struggling to pay rent and survive. She talked about how alone she felt and how she struggled to trust God. This anecdote was very relatable and I love the rawness and transparency of her testimony.

What about Heather Lindsey’s performance did you like?

I loved the fact that she read with passion behind her voice - it made listening to the book enjoyable.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I would say that I had more of an inner emotional reaction to this book -I felt inspired and an urge to keep on going.
