Publisher's summary

How do we practice II Corinthians 10:3-5, "tearing down strongholds by captivating our minds with the knowledge of God"? Beth Moore shows you how in Praying God's Word.

A topical prayer guide addressing 14 common strongholds and what Scripture reveals about each of them, Praying God's Word presents Scriptures in prayer form to be incorporated into your daily prayer life.

God's Word, through prayer, helps you overcome bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness, setting you free from each and every stronghold which claims your life, and replacing it with the mind of Christ.

Praying the word

Would you consider the audio edition of Praying God's Word to be better than the print version?

In this case I think I should have purchased and read the book. Only because there are many scriptures I would like to write down.

DO buy this audiobook!

Would you consider the audio edition of Praying God's Word to be better than the print version?

The audio format complements the print format. I'm SO glad I have the audio IN ADDITION to the print. (sorry for the caps - only way to emphasize my point). I agree that that you want the print version, but IMHO, the audio is well-worth having. I love that I can listen to God's Word while I'm working around the house, exercising, or driving long distances. There is GREAT value in hearing God's Word as well as reading it. A supplement, yes, but a valuable one for different times and places.

What did you like best about this story?

N/A. While Beth Moore includes some personal anecdotes at the beginning of each chapter, the bulk of this is of God's Word on a variety of "strongholds" (a.k.a. coping mechanisms, denial; allowing hurts, habits and hangups to keep you from facing and conquering a given pain)

What about Cynthia Holloway’s performance did you like?

She has a warm and energetic voice with pleasant expression. I've heard Beth Moore speak on video and another audiobook of hers. I understand those who have a hard time adjusting to a different voice because she is so sincere and passionate, but I think Ms Holloway does a great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction. Just very grateful for this book.

Any additional comments?

Buy the audio! I'm so glad I did.

Do not get on audiobook

The point of this book is to have a number of prayers to actually pray using scripture. In audio format you do not have those written prayers to pray, just listen to. Listening in audio format defeats the entire purpose of the book. This should never have been made into an audiobook.

Should Be A written book not an audio one

It's not a bad book by any means and Beth Moore is a cherished favorite of mine but the format was not good. It's a lot of prayers followed by their scriptural reference so the narrator's voice just drones on and on mechanically. I couldn't continue, it was grating
