Publisher's summary

What is meant by the "Great Tribulation?" Will the church endure the tribulation? Is the rapture a tenable belief? H.A. Ironside contrasts the judgment of God with salvation to determine the basis for the events of the future. He introduces biblical prophecy, connects to historical events, and offers an exhaustive biblical survey of the Great Tribulation. Most importantly, Ironside explains that the Great Tribulation differs from God's wrath or fury. Ultimately God’s judgment and wrath - and the events of the tribulation - are overcome by salvation and love. The End Times should not lead to fear but inspire hope.

Good Bible Doctrine

Very clear narration and good theology all backed up with scripture references. Dr. Ironsides was mentor to Dr. J Vernon McGee noted Bible commentator who started Through the Bible radio ministry. Dr. McGee’s recordings and materials are available at TTB.org

True classics never fail!

Sometimes you just can't improve on the classics. Some books just get better with age.

Good for a compilation of sermons.

It uses scripture to defend his position; despite what anyone says contrarywise having a scriptural basis for a system belief makes listen a challenging enterprise to verify, or nullify the teaching. Loved it.

Fantastic

Like all eschatology books, it is very controversial. However, of one makes the assumption that the entire Bible is to be read in the literal/normal hermeneutic, a premillennialism/pretribulational eschatology naturally results of that hermeneutic is applied consistently. Ironside does a great job a faithfully placing all the pieces together. The only way to refute him is to allegorize these passages like the amillennials do. This book is spot on.

well Presented

I also agree that only a pretrial view supports how the Bible is presented. well documented with Scriptures to support that view

do you yearn for TRUTH

this is almost entirely scripture..and not opinion. I've read many books about the end times. One of the best without weird theories and assumptions.

succinct explanation of position

I liked this book because it's short and to the point. Some books on this subject are hundreds and hundreds of pages and hours and hours long. I wasn't familiar with Ironside but this little book is direct and packed with detailed scripture references on the subject of the rapture. I'm still developing my own understanding of the position and found this a very efficient resource for premillenialism.
