Publisher's summary

How do we live out the message of Jesus in today’s ever-changing culture?

The church is facing its greatest challenge - and its greatest opportunity - in our postmodern, post-Christian world. God is drawing thousands of spiritually curious “imperfect people” to become his church - but how are we doing at welcoming them?

No Perfect People Allowed shows you how to deconstruct the five main barriers standing between emerging generations and your church by creating the right culture. From inspiring stories of real people once far from God, to practical ideas that can be applied by any local church, this audiobook offers a refreshing vision of the potential and power of the Body of Christ to transform lives today.

Who is perfect?

I thought I was perfect until I hit my 20s. I’m glad that the church is willing and needs to accept us un-perfect people. Like apostle Paul, I too am chief of all sinners. Thank you LORD for your unconditional LOVE!! This book helps me understand un-perfect people.

All Christians should Hear these Messages

I am a 70 yr old white male, been on my journey to get closer to my Savior. I am also on a journey to better understand Why our Country seems to be so broken. We have moved away from God as our leader for several generations now. This book is primarily aimed at Church leaders, but I now feel a sense of Hope that I can be a more effective change agent with the Broken People in our world where I frankly just wasn’t able to see them clearly as God sees us all. I have a new perspective and I believe I now have something more valuable, Hope through Loving others, All others, because we all are no different than anyone else, we are Sinners in need of God in our lives. Excellent book, from my perspective.

Life Changing

This book, and the words therein, opened my eyes to how Christ intended us to be. It has inspired hopefulness of being restored and living a life with purpose. I highly recommend this book. I have placed it in my top five all time favorites.

Day to Day mood tolerance possibly

Sadly, After listening to Mud and The Masterpiece read by author, John Burke, I kept trying & praying I could get past the readers voice & voice changes for people mentioned throughout book. :(

Taking church to the people

The author has done a good job evaluating where the church should be. It must adapt with culture and meet the people where they are at. Jesus worked with the people in just the same way. Churches have got to lay down their tribe banner and instead of trying to get the people to come to their church they must take the church to the people. Meet them where they are at.

Mostly Perfection

Even though this book is almost a decade old, I feel it is still on point with so many hot button issues. The stories shares were relatable and real. Only a few times did I find myself disagreeing, but I never felt like I had to stop reading.

No Perfect People Allowed

When I first started reading this book, I knew it was going to be an uncomfortable read. But I am glad I kept with it. I learned so much about myself and what God's purpose for Christians is; love Him and each other. The 'loving each other' part was challenged in this book.

If I could rate it a 10 I would; I see this as a must read for all mature Christians.
