Publisher's Summary

The lies Christian women believe are at the root of their struggles. In Lies Women Believe, Nancy Leigh DeMoss exposes areas of deception common to many Christian women: lies about God, sin, priorities, marriage and family, emotions, and more. She deals honestly with women's delusions and illusions and then gently leads them to the truth of God's word that leads to true freedom.

Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. This is the kind of book you give to girlfriends you love, almost like saying, "Hey! You have to read this! It will help." And it does. It's hard to say, why... it's just such useful information presented in such a wonderful manner.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how it presented each lie in list form, then gave plenty of anecdotes to help illustrate them.

Have you listened to any of Lisa Helm’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't think so. She does a great job of presenting the material in a manner that is easy to listen to and not distracting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! I couldn't stop listening to it!

Any additional comments?

This is a Christian book, using Adam and Eve as a wonderful foundation for the lies we women believe.

Audio is great but different

I'm reading along with the book and the book that I have is not the version that audible.com has. How can this be avoided?

where is the full book?

i love the book and the narration was good, but the book has 10 chapters and there are only 4 in audible??? Why? when I purchased it there was nothing leading me to believe that it was less than half of the book...Really not happy, maybe it was an error on my part?

Great book..!!

What a great book! Touched so many relevant topics. At times, it seemed the the author knew me and my struggles to have written a book that could go in so deeply.
Not everything might apply to everyone. But if you're willing to grow in at least one area of your life, I would give this book a try.

SPOT ON...if you're a Victorian woman

Any additional comments?

I purchased this book as a non Christian for research for a 19th century story and what I got was EXACTLY how they thought back then. I was just looking for some insight into the mind of a Christian, so I could write parts of the story, but I got so much more. This book presupposes that you believe in Satan, don't use birth control and think that being homosexual is a choice. It also gives instructions on how to be submissive in a marriage when it is falling apart, and hope that it just gets better because God says it will, no matter what your mate has done. It also pushes women back to the role of homemakers, pretty much stating that that's what God's plan was. I know several Christians and none of them are this blind and they are accepting of those around them, including homosexuals, those who have been forced to choose abortion, Atheists....in other words, they are accepting of people other than the lily white people of their own church. The book is also pretty elitist. It's the typical 'keep away from the people and culture outside the church because they're sinners.' US versus THEM.If I were a Christian woman, I would be embarrassed by the book.
