The chapters aren’t labeled as they should be. You want Romans? Good luck finding it.

The Best Audio Bible

Who doesn't love the Bible narrated by Max. If you don't, then you haven't heard it yet, because once you do I am sure you will agree. He brings the Bible to life like no other. I am uplifted every time I listen. During these trying times a good Bible listening retreat will do the mind and soul good. ENJOY !!!!!!!!!

Exceptional

Very enjoyable. I love the Word of God. Exceptional speaker quality and voice tone. I really enjoy the perfect English. Only thing I’d add are sound effects that transport the listener into the Bible experience.

I think McLean narrates the Bible wonderfully, better than Scourby in my opinion. BUT, it is very difficult to find a specific book to listen to because of the layout. It's one thing not to have a subtitle that says "1 John", but it's another to not even see which part of the recording you're on (ex. "Part 5 of 10"). If that could be corrected, this audiobook would be the best you can find for listening to scripture.

great reading of only book really worth reading

This is a dramatic reading of the Bible that gives life to every word. I like reading and the Bible is the only indispensible book in the world (to paraphrase Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who both made a similar cliam for America).

Not for beginners study

Great! I would recommend this to anyone but you really have to be already be familiar with the Bible to find your way around but so worth it!

It won’t play.

EDIT: My original review is below. Before my problem resolved, I removed and redownloaded this book six times. I can’t say for sure what fixed it. The only thing I can guess that may have made the difference is, on the last time I redownloaded this book, I did absolutely nothing with my iPhone until it completed. The previous times, I would momentarily switch to another app or start listening before the download was done. This time, I waited for the download to complete before switching apps or listening to a book or anything. I believe I even made sure my screen stayed on for the whole download. This kind of thing isn’t normally an issue, but this download takes longer than most others.

ORIGINAL: I’d love it if it would play consistently. It will play for a time. I’ll take a break and return to listen to it, and it will say it’s trying to sync. It will never sync. Eventually, it will say, “We’re sorry, but there was a problem. Please try again. If this problem persists, please call or email customer support.” I’ve gotten “help” from Audible support three times (once by chat, twice by phone, email isn’t an option I’ve been able to find). I’ve removed it and redownloaded it five times. That fixes it only temporarily. I’ve completely removed and reinstalled Audible on my iPhone. The last time I redownloaded it, I turned off the setting that syncs my listening position. The problem still happened, except it just went straight to the message I quoted above about a problem occurring. Nothing has worked. The last support person suggested I just listen to it through Safari. That works, but I want to listen to the downloaded book through the app. That’s not an acceptable solution; and frankly, it seems like lazy support. My other books work fine. I also tried offloading the Audible app (uninstalls the app while keeping its data), and that didn’t work.

I really like the way this is read, I follow along in my bible to help with pronunciation.

Challenging format

Max McLean is by far my favorite Bible narrator.
I have listened to four or give different narrators;some I cannot bear for even 1 full chapter. McLean is so easy on the ears; I enjoy anything he narrates. That said, It would definitely be a huge improvement if each “Part” listed Book and Chapter so you could easily find a particular reference or Book, chapter and verse.
