Publisher's Summary

Hyper-spiritual approaches to finding God's will don't work. It's time to try something new: Give up.

Pastor and author Kevin DeYoung counsels Christians to settle down, make choices, and do the hard work of seeing those choices through. Too often, he writes, God's people tinker around with churches, jobs, and relationships, worrying that they haven't found God's perfect will for their lives. Or, even worse, they do absolutely nothing, stuck in a frustrated state of paralyzed indecision, waiting...waiting...waiting for clear, direct, unmistakable direction.

But God doesn't need to tell us what to do at each fork in the road. He's already revealed his plan for our lives: to love him with our whole hearts, to obey His Word, and after that, to do what we like.

No need for hocus-pocus. No reason to be directionally challenged. Just do something.

I wish I had read this years ago!

I wish I had read this book years ago! The author doesn't try to help you figure out God's Cosmic to-do list for your life, instead he demonstrates the Liberty that God has given us to make choices within His will.

This book is motivational and has many solid scripture references. It does get a little repetitive but is a good listen overall.

Very straight forward.

Very direct and to the point. The way he explains God's will makes so much more sense than the way I've heard other talk about it.

great book

Kevin Deyoung has written an excellent concise and honest way to view God's will for your life - that is making decisions based on Biblical wisdom as opposed to seeking special revelation through unbiblical mystical means

God's will is simple, not always easy.

This book explains just that, Understanding God's will. He explains it in simple ways that make sense.

Very wise counsel!

DeYoung's wisdom is clear throughout this book. I am grateful for his Biblical explanations and discussion of what can often be a very tricky discussion. His insight is profound, and he offers really practical help. The only negative thing I would say about the Audible version is that the reader's voice is dull and computer-like. Still, the content is excellent and worth the listen.

Practical, Biblical advice

This book was a delight to listen to. God's wisdom was explained so practically and sensibly. The personal illustrations also helped greatly, but they were not used as replacements of Scriptural teaching. I will recommend this book often, and relisten as well.

What every Christian needs to read

If your in your late teens twenties thirties this book is perfect for you.

This book was suggested to me by a friend after I was discussing some issues I was having with him.

For today's Christian walking in God's will is a familiar worry or concern.

Kevin writes clearly and puts his points across that God's will isn't actually that hard to do.
It's our humaneness and culture that makes us think unnecessarily.

The last couple of chapters are really useful to those searching for the right job and the right wife or husband.
