This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Unforgettable voice, greatest story, unindexed
What did you love best about Johnny Cash Reading the Complete New Testament?
Johnny Cash's unique voice, together with his heartfelt, poignant, clear reading, not overly-dramatic, but expressive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Give me another lifetime and an independent income, and yes.
Any additional comments?
I'm glad I was made to memorize the books of the NT in order, and that the letters of St. Paul appear in descending order of length, because I'm pretty good at guessing where to find the beginning of the books of the New Testament. This is a useful skill only because there is NO INDICATION where any particular book begins and ends. (PS: Part II, section 8 is Romans) and that is my only complaint. Otherwise this Audible book is an outreach from Heaven.

Enjoyed it very much!

Cash's voice and rhythm can't be beaten
I usually prefer King James for listening because of its colorful language, but Cash brought emotion and depth that really brought the text to life very personally.

Incredible - the greatest project and work by J.C.
The voice of Johnny Cash, reading the Scriptures and Gospels, is like sitting by a campfire, ⛺ and you are being taken on a 🛶 journey, hearing the greatest story, adventure and the greatest Testimony, ever told.

Confusion cleared up
I saw a couple reviews about the first few chapters repeating after so long but this is how the actual book is; it’s not repeating, it’s telling the same story from different perspectives!:) hope this helps whoever needs it!<3

The Best Audio NT Out There!
I've listened to just about every audio bible out there: Scourby, Johnston, Zorsky, Peck, McLean, and several others I can't even recall. Some were unlistenable from start. Others would start off fine and then, after a while, you realized that it was EATING YOUR BRAIN! I was about to give up on listening to audio bibles altogether when I stumbled on this one, where the Man in Black reads the NT. From the first moment I started listening, I knew I had finally found The One.
Cash reads the NT in a manner that engages you and draws you in. He sounds like he's talking *with* you, not *at* you; like he's talking to a close friend and not up on stage talking to strangers. I've only had this audio bible for a few weeks but I've already listed to it for dozens of hours (I hike a lot and listen to it while hiking).
The translation used is the NKJV, which is a good, faithful translation but lacks the "clang and flavour" of the KJV. Reading the NKJV is like drinking decaffeinated coffee-- same basic brew but lacks the punch and kick of the fully-caffeinated KJV. Nevertheless, this audio bible is an outstanding production.
This product is the NT only. For Psalms, Alex Jennings' rendition of the KJV Book of Psalms is incomparable.

Reverent, but needs index
I love this performance, but really wish there was a way to go to a particular chapter or book or verse. Has anyone out there done the work to index this?
