Publisher's summary
Got an impossible situation? The anxiety it brings can wake you in the middle of a needed night’s sleep and then stalk you in the middle of broad daylight. It can sneak up on you and cast a cloak of fear and concern over your shoulders that you can’t seem to shake no matter how hard you try. It can take you down. Squash all hope. Stop you in your tracks. Impossible. Impenetrable. Unchangeable. Maybe so...until God gets involved. No matter the details of your circumstance, his raw power potential and immeasurable ability refuse to cower in the face of any challenge. Nothing is impossible with God. Nothing. Not even that thing.
This is the uplifting, well-reasoned answer from New York Times best-selling author Priscilla Shirer - not a denial of life’s adversities and troubles but a biblical reminder that God is always up to great things, even when his great things are greater than instant remedies and visible change. He is a God who cares...and a God who can. Believe it. Experience it. God Is Able.

Interruptions: They're aggravating - sometimes infuriating. They make us want to tell people what we think of them. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. The prophet Jonah's existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. And it scared him enough to make him run in the opposite direction. Yet, what seemed to him to be an unnecessary and useless interruption was really an opportunity for Jonah to be involved in something the likes of which the Old Testament world had never seen before.

The most important conversation you'll have. Why do so many of our conversations with one another lead to misunderstanding and hurt feelings? Brady Boyd turns to the example of Jesus Christ to show that the health of our conversations can be only as vibrant as the health of our interactions with God. As Proverbs says, "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" (Proverbs 12:18 niv).

There is no one whose brokenness is too broken for God. We know this is true for our friends when we want to encourage them. Yet, when it comes to the places of out innermost sense of regret, we often wonder if it is really true that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him. Angie Smith is one who was quick to encourage a friend, but struggled to believe that God could truly make something spectacular out of her brokenness and disappointments.

From a challenge of faith to a means of transformation: Did God really say you couldn't eat from any tree in the garden? This seed of doubt planted so long ago bears the fruit of fear on some level every day - the idea that our actions could ruin something beautiful and God might not have control over things. In What Women Fear, acclaimed writer and speaker Angie Smith admits, "Fear is a major part of my testimony," as she talks openly about significant struggles she has experienced. Giving a voice to the problem, she says, "I truly believe every single one of us struggles with some type of fear...."

We are all spread too thin, taking on more than we can handle, trying to do so much - almost as if we are afraid that if we were to take a moment of rest, we might discover that all our busyness is covering up an essential lack in our lives. But God never meant for us to be so busy. God desires for us peace.

Story
Over the years Bible teacher and Bethel Church pastor Havilah Cunnington has talked to people across the spectrum of Christianity - from those who completely avoid mentioning the devil to those who see him lurking around every corner - and she has seen the dangers of ignoring or misrepresenting Satan's true power. Whether we talk about it or not, every follower of God is in a war against a very real enemy, one who wants to steal, kill, and destroy. In Stronger than the Struggle, Cunnington shows listeners what God's Word has to say about this issue - and what it doesn't. In a down-to-earth, let's-get-real approach, the author applies good old-fashioned theology to the tough topic of spiritual warfare and helps listeners discern whether their struggles are coming from God, themselves, or the enemy.

Similarly, modern day Christians often hear and understand the promises of God each Sunday morning at church but then rarely choose to experience them in everyday life. LysaTer Keurst knows what it means to walk in faith, starting from the cry she uttered years ago - "How do I take my broken life and allow God to use it for his glory?" - to her current position as president of Proverbs 31 Ministry. Lysa's new book is filled with stories, Scripture, and encouragement for listeners to discover the deeper truths of God. As a bonus, Lysa has provided a Bible study section to help listeners apply the principles in What Happens When Women Walk in Faith.

What does she do when she sees that, somehow, her life has drifted away from all her original hopes, dreams, or plans? Speaker, blogger, and writer Chrystal Evans Hurst wrote this book because she was that woman. One day she realized that she had somehow wandered from the life she was meant to live.

NARRATION WAS LESS THAN DESIRABLE
What would have made God Is Able better?
This amazing author, Priscilla Shirer, is an outstanding and anointed minister of the word of God. Her story is well written, easy to comprehend and practical for improving my walk with God. When Priscilla tells her own story, as in other audiobooks I have purchased, there is an enlightenment that goes beyond just listening to a reader. Priscilla's audio voice sets the book on FIRE! I often shout and cry and praise like never before because her gift of deliverance of the word of God is supernaturally contagious. Priscilla has a gift from God for delivering her story like no one else will ever be able to match.I mean no offense to the narrator, I am simply saying my truth. It was difficult to, at times impossible, to listen to her narration because of an overall lack of authenticity. What I mean is that her reading was not her gift at all. She constantly pronounced the A with a long a sound rather than the appropriate (ah) sound which was irritating. Her flat and unauthentic connection to the story made it so obvious that she did not live or engage in the experience of what was written and experienced by Priscilla. I purchased the book on line but cannot listen to it for many other reasons; narration takes away from the beauty and gift of the story. I ended up having to buy a hard copy as well so that I could get to the meat of the ministry materials; it was hard to listen and pause and listen and stop due to some word pronunciations and word inflections. Also it took away from the story itself so much so that I had to read it silently (which is not my preference since I am required to read technical materials in my profession). I enjoy listening to audiobooks as a way to enjoy reading materials that I love. Please, Priscilla, continue to read your own audios or hire someone who exudes the fire, passion and presentation of the Lords Word with intensity and enthusiasm.Such a great story; such a disappointment in audio delivery. We each have special gifts and talents; Priscilla’s gift includes ministry and delivery of the Word of God. This review is intended to help and not to harm anyone; it is my experience.
What did you like best about this story?
It not only inspires but is detailed in ways that I have not thought of when I say: God is Able. The story invites me to have an encounter with God and to begin to work "with" Him and Him only in times where supernatural blessings are sought and in instances where I can share this message with others in need. The stories and testimonies gave me hope and most resonated with me personally. What I liked most of all was the "realness" and transparency of the author; I know now on a higher level that GOD IS ABLE.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lisa Renee-Pitts’s performances?
No. Lisa could be used in other areas of her gifts but not as a professional narrator.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Faith! Self reflection. I remind myself and my family and friends that GOD IS ABLE. I was challenged in the book to remember the ways in which God has shown me His mercy, grace and deliverance in so many ways over the years. It challenged me to look back at how far He has brought me and that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD; HE IS ABLE!!
Any additional comments?
I will highly recommend the hard copy to many in my path.Thank you for using your amazing gifts to bless the world.

Disappointed
I'm a fan of many of Priscilla's books and teachings but this one is not like her style at all. It's more like the max lucado style. I meant it lacks her usually insight and instead sounds like a book written mainly for the money.
