Publisher's summary

From her first breath of fresh air beyond the pit, it has never been enough for Beth Moore to be free. This best-selling author and Bible teacher, who has opened the riches of scripture to millions, longs for you to be free as well—to know the Love and Presence that are better than life and the power of God's Word that defies all darkness.

Beth's journey out of the pit has been heart-rending. But from this and the poetic expressions of Psalm 40 has come the reward: a new song for her soul, given by her savior and offered to you in Get Out of That Pit—friend to friend. This is Beth’s most stirring message yet of the sheer hope, utter deliverance, and complete and glorious freedom of God:

I waited patiently for the Lord

He turned to me and heard my cry

He lifted me out of the slimy pit

He set my feet on a rock

He put a new song in my mouth

It is a story, a song—a salvation—that you can know too.

Get Out of That Pit is also available in Spanish, Sálgase de ese pozo.

Inspiring

I love and appreciate Beth Moore for her transparency. I've been in and out of "pits" far too many times. This book was very encouraging. 🦋

Best book for combining concepts and practical actions

I love how Beth takes serious, difficult concepts and makes them relatable and actionable. She weaves in stories that help you connect with her and the concepts with just the right mix of tough love and kindness. One of the best books I've ever read.

Practical Advice for Practical People

Would you listen to Get Out of That Pit again? Why?

This is a book that one can listen to over and over again. It is not only imperative to learn how to get OUT of a pit, but how to STAY out. Beth's practical, applicable teachings are perfect for those days when you may feel yourself sliding, or being pushed, or jumping back into that pit.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Get Out of That Pit?

My "A-HA!" moment came as the author was speaking about things we may inadvertently do to cause us to become mired in the mud of the pit. Things we may not consciously realize we do, but as they accumulate can cause that "slide" down into the mud.

Have you listened to any of Beth Moore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first (but definitely not my last) listen to Beth Moore.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this audiobook in my car on the way to work, and more than once found myself sitting in the parking lot wishing I didn't have to go in, so I could stay and listen to more. To me, that's a sign of book worth listening to.

We all have been in the pit at some time and this is just tremendous helping reminder to God and how he’s going to help us through and some just point-blank honest things that help me to be honest with myself I strongly suggest this book

Refreshing dose of Grace!

What did you like best about this story?

I love that Beth Moore narrated this herself. Beth describes all the ways we can get ourselves into "pits" in a very frank and non-judgemental way, which in my experience is unusual in the Christian (particularly the mainline, evangelical denominations such as Beth belongs to) community. But more importantly, she offers help on how to get out of the messes we sometimes find ourselves in.

the end is worth the price

I didn't really relate to many of the situations that she mentioned in terms of ways of falling into the pit, and I felt the message wasn't personal to my needs, but the end was worth the price. She ends with a chapter of recorded scripture prayers that have been as instructive as they are comforting. Set to nice music, really inspiring me to take my own prayer life to new levels. I recommend this to everyone for the chapter of recorded scripture prayers.
