Publisher's summary

Because science has long taught us to rely on what we can see and touch, we often don't notice that our spirit, thoughts, emotions, and body are all made of energy - that everything is vibrating. As we move out of the age of technology and into the age of intuition, we need the tools to understand what it means to be a vibrational being and how our natural frequency affects us.

In Frequency, Penney Peirce shows you how to feel your personal vibration and work intentionally with energy to transform your life. Rather than being carried by external, conflicting energies, you can still your mind and become aware of who you are - your natural frequency - and what you truly want to create. By fully understanding the role that energy plays, you can harness the real power behind the laws of the universe and reap the benefits of the life you're built for.

Critic reviews

"Penney Peirce clarifies many of the energy principles that have previously been unacknowledged, but which we can now intentionally use to keep ourselves healthy and improve the realities we live in. I laughed out loud when I read this book, and enjoyed it immensely." (Richard Bartlett, author of Matrix Energetics)

Just tell your story

The subject is great. I love this higher level understanding of spirit and ego. Unfortunately the delivery was painful. I couldn't get past the never ending series of examples. For every new word spoken there were 3 to10 examples of that word. She must have been a preschool teacher, probably a very good one. But the subject is for those with expanded consciousness and broader comprehension of mind and spirit. Yet Penny the author, causes you to speed up and slow down the whole way through. Me and my wife began laughing after a while. Also frustrating were these compilations of well thought out phrases, placing together a series of words in an attempt to sound articulate yet coming across choppy, distorting the rhythm and the flow of what I think could have been a very interesting subject.
Classic example of a writer getting in her own way.

I listen to a lot of self-help books

Is there anything you would change about this book?

and I could not get anything out of this - I could not listen, focus , or engage in any way. I was pretty surprised after all the great reviews by dynamic speakers like Wayne Dyer, etc. I am not sure if I am just not ready for the message or her delivery and voice were a barrier to me but after 3 years of LOTS of listening this was the first thing I could not listen to . Others I have enjoyed: All of Pema Chodron, all of Bruce Tipton, Wayne Dyer, John Kabat Zinn, Kevin Todeschi, Jack Kornfield, Louise Hay, Ram Dass, all of Geneen Roth and The Power and The Secret audios. So - I do a lot of listening as a way to keep me awake in the boondocks of Southern Oregon. I will keep trying this off and on and see if anything changes for me.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Delivery did not engage me - maybe more interesting words - I am not sure...

Was Frequency worth the listening time?

Have not invested much time as it could not engage me

Any additional comments?

Maybe good for others - that is why I listed what I have liked so people can get an idea of my listening preferences.

Endless list of negativity

Would you try another book from Penney Peirce and/or Laural Merlington?

No

Has Frequency turned you off from other books in this genre?

No. I'll continue searching for worthwhile material but if all books of this genre were like this I'd sooner read a comic book. At least there would be less negativity

Any additional comments?

About an hour into the book, I noticed myself getting physically ill listening to the book. I realized I had been listening to someone drone on and on with a never ending list of negative things that people feel. It was horrible. I bought this book to learn how frequencies and vibrations can be changed and I guess it did in fact show me first hand how that happens. Her negative bs has left me feeling sick and disgusted. I can't believe anyone bothered to publish this drivel.

The book of lists

What three words best describe Laural Merlington’s voice?

The readers voice is fine, even nice. However, the book is read at breakneck speed.

Any additional comments?

This is like someone complied a book of lists and then had someone read it...really fast. It isn't the worst audiobook I've ran into, but there are certainly better books to spend your time on.

Basically, the book has a lot of new-agey-type things in it, like stages and levels you will get to as you become more "enlightened," I guess. It rarely tells you how to obtain any of these levels, just that these are things you will experience as you rise up through the levels.

The thought I had while listening to it was, "New Age + Masons = Frequency," because the author is quite adept at creating lists of levels and stages. While a bit interesting here or there, some insight from the author on how to personally grow to some of these levels would be helpful.

Also, some background on why the author believed some of these things might be helpful. For example, some levels correspond to chakras. That's fine, at least a person can google that. But, some levels are obtained only after death...and apparently you can get stuck there until spirit guides come and show you how to move on. Ok, so how exactly did the author come upon this knowledge? Spirit guides teach her this? It's part of her religion? It's an ancient belief? Or...she just happened to have finished watching a copy of Astral City and thought she could work it into one of her lists???

All in all, I would bet that Penney Peirce is a 33rd degree New Ager, and I don't really mean that in a derogatory way. What I mean is, focusing on lists and levels without information that will help people move up...is it really that useful?

The one thing I thought might be useful about the book is for someone at "higher levels" to look back and reflect on their lives. That might be why one reviewer couldn't figure out the positive reviews from some authors and lecturers she enjoyed. It connected with them, because they could see themselves in the different stages of personal development.

Excellent!

Would you listen to Frequency again? Why?

The book touched on so many "Truths" and is filled with anecdotes with which I can relate. Will listen again to see what other good points were missed.

What other book might you compare Frequency to and why?

While this book is written from a different point of view, the "Truths" contained therein touched on areas many many other books did including those by Michael Beckwith, Eckart Tolle and Rhonda Byrne.

What about Laural Merlington’s performance did you like?

The performance was slow enough to get all of the points even at 1 1/2 speed.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Consciousness: Inside and Out

Any additional comments?

Wonderful book. Highly recommended!

Deep and Complex

Would you try another book from Penney Peirce and/or Laural Merlington?

I am thinking if this book was told by another story teller, it would be easier to
listen too. It sounds a bit robotic at times and the voice sounds a bit stiff.
However, that being said, it's an excellent, well researched and written book. I think I will buy the book and give it a read.

Best book ever. An amazingly inspirational book fo

Not a book to be read completely in a single sitting, but a great one to simply stand back and digest each amazing chapter. How on earth, or in heaven, does she do it? Every time I re-read a chapter something new jumps out at me. It has been a joy. Thank you.

I see it's value.

This audiobook was really wordy. I found myself sifting through it a lot for what would benefit me, however I'm sure the things made it a longer listen than I desired were things that were vital to others.

Very interesting but never gets into the how to's just touches on but no clarity

Very interesting but never gets into the how to's just touches on but no clarity. With all the negative sides they touch on it seems like this book is more to keep you down rather than build you up.

I'm sorry - don't waste your credit.

What would have made Frequency better?

This book came highly recommended to me by a highly rated medium. I'm so disappointed - it's one of the most negatively focused spiritual/energetic books that I have ever read, if not the most. She spends so much time on the negative parts of spiritual progression, that it is unaccurate an completely off putting. It sounds like an ad for new medicine - it helps you spiritually, but the side effects are: divorce, anxiety, health issues, wealth issues, friend loss, family deaths, etc.

Would you ever listen to anything by Penney Peirce again?

I doubt it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Laural Merlington’s performances?

Definitely not. Her voice is grating.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disagreement and disappointment. Switching to a higher frequency can be challenging and even scary at times, but let's talk about that for a chapter a move on. I had to stop after half the book. I kept waiting for something uplifting, some exericses to increase vibration, something remotely positive. Nope.
