Publisher's Summary

Many of us struggle with depression, anxiety, panic, addictions, and guilt. The source of this pain often lies buried within behavioral patterns that begin in childhood, due to poor parenting, trauma, or other factors that slow our growth toward maturity. Dr. Henry Cloud's Changes that Heal teaches us the 4 things we must do to become mature image-bearers of God: bond with others, set healthy personal boundaries, accept both the good and bad in life, and develop adult traits. He describes each of these needs and clearly identifies problems that arise when they aren't met. Filled with solid scriptural insights, Changes That Heal will show you how to form healthy relationships with yourself, others, and God, to help bring a new richness and purpose to your life.

Good Listen

I liked this book. It offered several options for digging deeper into possible problems one may be dealing with. I wish it would have covered all the detail Dr. Cloud would mention.

Glad the author read this...

The professional, polished voices on e. g. the unabridged version of this same book, are never as effective for me than the natural approach of having an author read his own words. What-don't they have time to read their own books? Please more like this...

More Religious than expected.

I found the author's justifications for Jesus Christ were things that already existed in the Old Testament, but I guess he wasn't attentive enough to notice it. That said it makes me wonder if the true reason for the growth of Christianity hasn't been some combination of laziness and illiteracy. This bothered me more for its ignorance than anything else. It was only a minor distraction from generally good material about helping yourself and understanding combining good and empowering behavior. That said, I found what I was looking for. Thank you.
