Publisher's Summary

In this enlightening audio program, Gregg Braden and Deepak Chopra, M.D., explore the similarities between three seemingly different philosophies: quantum physics, Vedanta, and the Judeo-Christian teachings revealed by the Dead Sea Scrolls. Specifically, they address the Isaiah Scroll, the only scroll found completely intact, and the subject of Braden's book, The Isaiah Effect. Braden describes the "Isaiah Effect" as a power that can heal our bodies, bring about lasting peace, and perhaps avert the greatest conceivable tragedies, through the powers of prayer and prophecy. "As we feel the feelings, we awaken the possibilities that are already created," he says.

A great place to start!

The wonderful Deepak Chopra and Gregg Braden on one audio! Need I say more? This audio speech is a great sampling of Gregg Braden's work, bringing together information from his research and books. However, if you have already read or listened to Gregg's other books, this audio can sound a little repetitive. If you are wondering about Gregg's work, then this is a great place as any to start, hence the five stars.

Heard it all before!

A good listen but Braden seems to repeat alot of things that I have known from his other works and you practically can predict what he is going to say next.I will still read the older forms of theosophy because it suits my current needs and I find there is more 'ancient wisdom" in it then a lot of current or modern books on spirituality. It is also too short for a such a fancy title.

Good intro to Dead Sea Scrolls & synchronicity

My first intro to how the dead sea scrolls really verify some of the current practice of mindful meditation/ specific prayer or "enlightenment" and that the original writings only enhance one's spirtuality.

This book is a good introduction to another book that was more in depth about the topic.

I Normally Really Like Gregg Braden

What disappointed you about An Ancient Magical Prayer?

I normally really like Gregg Braden and Deepak Choopra. Deepak only speaks briefly in this audio. Gregg Braden is one of my favorite authors...but this was just lacking. It was ok, but not as good as his other books...in my opinion.

Has An Ancient Magical Prayer turned you off from other books in this genre?

no

What didn’t you like about Gregg Braden and Deepak Chopra ’s performance?

It was short and not very interesting

What character would you cut from An Ancient Magical Prayer?

none

this said nothing

I'm not sure what I expected from this, but Braden seemed to take some well known ancient wisdom, re-package it slightly, and pretend he was letting his audience in on a "secret" (No pun intended, but I think there is one there!). I have also a 3.5 hour Greg Braden download to listen to, so I hope that there is more substance in that one.

Content Excellent - Sound quality not

The content was FANTASTIC!! However, as it is part of a lecture you can hear other microphoned people whispering through it. Also, it's part of a weekend retreat is sounds like. I would like to get a copy of all the lectures from that retreat.

pretty much loved it

I can't help but love this authors stuff... although this speech that he gave had loads of information that was in a previous book of his, I have a hard time getting sick of it. He has a very welcoming voice and his message is clear and uplifting.

not a book at all...

this is a lecture given loosely around a book and really doesn't represent an audiobook at all. I have liked what I have read of his other books but this is a lecture he gave, more or less advertising his book at a Deepak Chopra workshop. Leaves you with nothing you can work with and is all hype. Spend your money on something else...
