Publisher's summary

The Zondervan Biblical and Theological Lectures series provides a unique audio learning experience. Unlike a traditional audiobook's direct narration of a book's text, A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures includes high-quality live recordings of college-level lectures that cover the important points from each subject as well as relevant material from other sources.

For over four decades, biblical theology has been at the core of the biblical counseling movement. Leaders in biblical counseling have emphasized a commitment to teaching doctrine in their counseling courses out of the conviction that good theology leads to good counseling and bad theology leads to bad counseling.

In A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures Heath Lambert unpacks the core convictions that underlie sound counseling and gives practical wisdom for our counseling practices today. These audio lectures show how biblical counseling is rooted in the Scriptures while illustrating the real challenges counselors face today.

A Theology of Biblical Counseling: Audio Lectures is accessible for working biblical counselors and for counselors-in-training at colleges and seminaries. In each lesson, doctrine comes to life in real ministry to real people, dramatically demonstrating how theology intersects with the lives of actual counselees.

Great book even for a Calvinist... just kidding

Even though I lean Arminian... I agree about biblical counseling and heart of your book.

Great overview of the history and true focus on Biblical Counseling

Mr. Lambert does a great job laying out a case for faith that the Bible can be the go to resource for counseling. This would be extremely helpful to anyone considering work in the counseling field.

Great intro.

it was a good lecture series. Primarily theological/theoretical; unfortunately, less practical in it's instructional approach.

Incorrect Title

This appears to actually be a book on reformed theology by someone practicing biblical counseling. it was largely a waste of time and money.

Great Overview!

This was a great overview of biblical counseling. The author had much experience and great advice for how to approach different issues but also allowing for a good understanding of why biblical theology is so important in counseling.

Outstanding insights into Christian doctrines.

This book is one of the best explanations of fundamental, Biblical doctrines and how they relate to counseling that I have ever read. Interestingly, though, these same doctrines which form the foundation of our Christian lives and the clarity that Heath Lambert brings to these essential and eternal truths is profound. in particular, the chapter on the doctrine of salvation had an amazing impact on, not just my overall view of salvation but, more importantly, my understanding of each element.

Note to future listener…

I really appreciate the content and delivery. Very practical and Biblically centered.
My only note to a future reader would be that this recording is not the actual book “A Theology of Biblical Counseling”, but a series of similar lectures. Still worth getting and listening to.
