RELICS—The Chronicles of Solomon Drake, is an Urban Fantasy story set in modern day Detroit. On a brisk Monday in December—after staying up most of the night looking after a pack of sick Werewolves—Solomon's world is turned upside down when a small Cob Elf is found in the back of Blackmane’s with a strange crystal in his possession, a crystal that contains the spirit of the powerful Wizard Merlin. What makes matters worse is an Albino along with his twin leather clad Vampire accomplices enters the store hunting for the Elf and the crystal he carries, which they hope will lead them to the hidden resting place of King Arthur’s sword Excalibur. What happens next will lead Solomon on a quest that might just end up costing him his life.

Pros: Great Human main character surrounded by a CRAZY cast who you are able to constantly relate to. His wit and charm make the slower portions engaging. His dialogues with Adrianna are excellent. I could literally read about this cast doing housecleaning and grocery shopping.
Cons: Quite a few repetitive descriptions (droplets of blood fell in crimson droplets, he balled his fist into a ball). Antagonist reveal contains a longwinded explanation of his evil plan.
Definitely recommend!
A fun, unique adventure! Spoilers in review!

I really enjoyed this read and glad i gave Rob's book a chance.
I think that the writing flowed well and that the side characters were a blast to get to know. Every character felt important and had a purpose. The humor landed well, and there are alot of pop culture references which is cool to see in a fantasy setting.
My only gripe and what is keeping this from being 5 stars for me is that the first half of the book really hooked me in, but the second half of the book had some pacing issues for me. I found myself getting a little bored at times and not being as interested. However, he brought it home by the end.
Fun with some minor flaws
