Publisher's summary

Protecting her should be easy for a man like me.

When assigned as a bodyguard for Adriana Bertoli, I knew I was in for a world of trouble. With her fiery-red hair, sparkling green eyes, milky white skin, and lush, curvaceous body, she's a damn knockout.

But she also happens to be the niece of one of the most powerful mob bosses in the Seattle-Tacoma area, Don Carlo - my boss. And he's made it clear that none of his men are to lay a finger on Adriana.

The man to have that honor would have to be perfect - a warrior and a saint. Sadly, I was no saint.

It should be an easy order to follow. After all, I owed everything to the man, and I'd be nothing without him. But every moment in Adriana's presence is pure temptation. The longer I'm with her, the more I want her, and I fear it won't be long before I betray the man who's like the father I never had.

Couldn’t finish listening. I really tried.

To maintain my sanity, I had to quit listening to this book. The narrator’s voice was sickening!

Great start

Would you listen to Relentless again? Why?

Yes this book was very enjoyable. I will listen again when book 2 comes out.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Daniel he tried to stay away from Adriana, but he has wanted Adriana since they were younger. Daniel is very protective of her which makes you want to swoon.

Have you listened to any of Emma Lysy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have, she does a great job as a narrator. She is very enjoyable to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When the Uncle found out, that was a nail bitter.

Any additional comments?

Mob Princess...

Would you consider the audio edition of Relentless to be better than the print version?

I don't know I haven't read the print version. However, I enjoy Audiobooks sometimes more because it gives you more depth to the characters and allows you to

What other book might you compare Relentless to and why?

Ummm I'm not sure. I think a lot of mafia books are similar, but this had a bit of a twist with a college student, being the niece and having a stalker.

Which character – as performed by Emma Lysy – was your favorite?

Daniel. I thought that Emmy did a good job with his voice. She could do a bit deeper, but I know that is hard.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I can't do that ever...lol I like to savor the story and characters. Plus its my excuse to exercise as I listen when I walk.

Any additional comments?

I liked how he (Daniel) tried so hard to stay away, but he has been attracted/loved Adriana since they were younger. He's protective and not overly alpha which is good. I liked the suspense of the story and I liked their connection.

Another interesting point is Adriana is the niece of the mobster, she's in college and the stalker is former teacher. I also liked that the author new the "levels" of the mafia. She made it seem almost real.

However, I kinda felt that it should have been more in regards to Mr. Crazy Pants at the end as I felt it was kind of rushed. Overall the story is good and for being my first book by this author, I have to say I would read again.

It was okay. Something wrong with the recording .

This story would have kept my interest better if I didn't have to keep rewinding to make sure I heard things clearly.
Sounded like it was in a tunnel sometimes and other times it sounded like a tin can echo.

Think I'll request a return credit for this. Very frustrating and lost the desire to finish actually listening.

Great story...if you read it on your own.

I really enjoyed Adriana and Daniel's story. It didn't knock my socks off but it was sweet. It had an element of danger and a forbidden love that grew with Ade and Dan through childhood but if you had a mob boss know to make good on his threats giving you rules to live or die by, would you violate them? The thing I disliked most was Emma Lysy's narration. She gave the characters awful voices, making them sound like complete emotionless snobs or like they had a perpetual head cold! In the beginning there's a murder that has a big emotional impact on Adriana but you never hear it or experience it in her voice or how she carries herself. Avoid Emma's rendition of Adriana and Dan's love scenes too because she's so detached, it ruins them. Just terrible!! Emma needs to work on her emotional inflection in her voice when reading because she is not good!

"I'm Ron Burgandy?" Punctuation has meaning so don't end a non-question with a dang question in your voice! Thank goodness I had the kindle version so I could get rid of Emma's voice! I listen to A LOT of ebooks and there has only been one other narrator who is as bad as Emma Lysy.

Read this one yourself if you want to do it any justice...

Fantastic Mafia Romance

Any additional comments?

What a great story. This is my first audiobook by the author and i'm sure it won't be my last. Daniel and Adriana were great together. Loved the chemistry between the two. I liked how her uncle Don Carlo was true to mob form and the way he dealt with disobeying him. I would definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a hot and sexy mafia story that is suspenseful and romantic.

Enjoyed the story - narrator...not so much

Enjoyable romantic suspense story. Storyline flowed well. Unfortunately. I found the narrator's performance lacking. Honestly. I wish I had bought the book instead of Audible.

Kept me hooked

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It had all 3 required components ( good story, good and fitting performance, just enough hot sexy scenes).

It is definitely a HEA novel but keeps you guessing still. It's tough to pull off both male and female parts but Emma does a good job.

The story had good flow with the resident bad boy coming to the rescue of the spitfire of a girl in distress all while her God Father aspires to keep them from becoming romantically involved.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review and I honestly can say it kept me involved and tuned in.
