Immediately helpful

We listened to this audiobook after we listened to Stan Tatkin’s “Your Brain On Love”…both of which have changed our relationship for the better. Highly recommended.

The actors in the scenarios were my least favorite I thought the performances were not very good

Essential listening for all couples

Dr. Stan Tatkin does it again with an engaging and informative book that will actually help you create a strong and secure-functioning relationship. I especially love the role plays that demonstrate toxic conflict and exactly how secure-functioning couples resolve conflict in healthy ways. This is an enjoyable book that I’ll be listening to again and again and recommending to the couples I work with.

Essential.

Informative and applicable. How and what Stan Tatkin shares in this book is, I believe, essential for all to read and pivotal for how the world can view how we do relationship moving forward.

Excellently balanced for both the avid learner, unsuspecting dunce

I accidentally stumbled across this book trying to find something on neurology. My partner and I are a little over two years together now, so communication is still a learning work-in-progress.

I’m biased towards self-help books, but this is definitely one of the top audible experiences I’ve had (I’m probably close to/over 100 books in the library with around 10 repeaters).

I found myself reflecting on my own shortcomings as a partner, because I was motivated to be a more active participant in the relationship. One of my favorite dynamics from the book is how the author cleverly weaves sound seductive arguments within common-sense conversation, and tidies it up with realistic evidence. I most enjoyed how the author constructively disassembles a large collection of social norms, expectations, and assumptions.

So far I’ve tried to shove this book in any of my audible fiends’ ears. On my third listen in less than a few months, I’m very pleased.

Wish this was available years ago!!

Step by step guide that works -- only if both parties are in. If both parties are not in and committed to Rx/fixing what is broken and agreeing on what is broken, then at the best, it absolutely helps you to see, define and, understand deeply, your own part you are playing.

Informative and well organized

This is an incredibly helpful explanation of what often goes wrong and how to address those issues…I ask my clients to listen to it or read it together.
