Publisher's summary

Discover how to have satisfying relationships that work.

Are you tired of toxic relationships? Do you need more support in your life and less drama? Do you have a hard time valuing yourself?

Many audiobooks have been written on codependency; my hope in writing this particular one is to reach those who might resonate with its unique take. The purpose of this concise and to-the-point guide is to help those who want to either find a healthy love relationship, or to transform the ones they already have; whether they be with a partner, children, friendships, parents, or any other significant relationship in their lives.

In it are strategies and information given for healthy communication, self-care, establishing and maintaining boundaries, and increasing self-confidence and self-worth.

Here is a preview of what you'll learn:

  • What codependency actually is, and how to know if you've got it
  • The root cause of codependency
  • How to set boundaries
  • How to love and value yourself
  • What a healthy relationship looks like
  • How to deal with difficult emotions
  • The hazards of recovery

If you think you might be codependent, then this is a must-hear. Take back your self-esteem and your joy in life, and finally create lasting fulfillment and connection with everyone important to you.

Outstanding Book! In recovery? Please read this.

Thank you for writing this wonderful gem of a book, Lisa Doucette. I've been a recovering codependent for many years, but divorcing my husband of 30 years (covert narcissist: sex, porn, food, and hoarding addictions) has plunged me into a very dark place. Immediately after discovering his "other life," which he could easily sustain as an airline pilot, I kicked him out of our house, found a life-saving counselor, and went to CODA and ACA meetings. I'm a voracious reader/writer, so I also devoured every book I could either read or listen to while driving. Honestly, I don't know how I could have survived without all this help. Your book is my favorite on this topic. You cover more ground than any other author on the subject, and you give your readers specific, excellent advice to follow. I just keep listening over and over again. I'd give you 10 stars if I could. Saving lives and giving readers a roadmap for how to live the rest is an incredible gift. I can't thank you enough. All I can do is give you the highest recommendation and encourage others to read your book.

Why the 3 stars on performance? Karin Jenkins is a fine reader, but I don't think she's a good match for your material. Too flat in her tone, and it seems to me like she'd be a better voice over artist for something less emotional. Just my opinion, but I have the expertise to give it.
