Story
Ty Calder was a stranger to the mighty empire that was his legacy - the ranchlands that rose to meet the Montana skies. He learned the ways of ranch life from young Jessy, who knew the land with her own heart. But Ty worshiped dark, glamorous Tara, scion of the new "corporate West", of vast power and big money. Tara lured Ty on, greedy to be mistress of the Calder kingdom. Yet when her world rushed in to plunder the fortune beneath the prairies, it was Jessy who fought for Ty, defying death to save a birthright that was Calder born, Calder bred.

Publisher's Summary
Refuge Cove, Alaska, stays true to its name when a woman who has lost hope and a man in need of healing come to each other's rescue.
She'd come to Alaska on the promise of marriage, only to find herself on the run from her would-be husband. Lost and alone in the wilderness, Emily Hunter nearly weeps with relief at the sight of a small plane in the distance - until the rugged bush pilot makes his way through the brush to help her. Can she trust this stranger any more than the menacing predator on her trail? But there's something in John Wolf's dark eyes that wills her to believe in him, something about his gentle nature that allows her to accept his offer of protection.
He'd let her into his life because he knew she was in trouble. The last thing John Wolf expects is to feel so much so quickly for the vulnerable woman in his care. For sharing his lonely wilderness home with Emily means allowing her to see his sorrow - the son he longs to reconnect with, the loss of the family he once dreamed possible. Sharing his heart with Emily means being willing to risk everything to keep her safe.

I've really enjoyed this story. It has strong characters , that can stand alone . They also blend well in this book. The reader has a great voice. Easy to listen to , calming . That makes it easy to sit back and get absorbed into the story.

Good story
The narrator was very good, did a good reading of the story. The story kept my interest all the way to the end...I listened to the whole book in one sitting. I had planned only listening to part of it today and the rest of it tomorrow...but it was too good and I couldn't talk myself into stopping.

Campy, cheesey, horrible
There is nothing that can redeem this book. The story is weak and cringe worthy. The narrator pronounces words wrong no less than one dozen times and makes the whole story even more cringey with his game show host style. Ugh.
