Publisher's summary

An arrogant lord cut off by his family. A penniless widow in desperate need. In their reduced circumstances, can love save them both?

Lord Neil Duncan, third son of the Marquess of Alderton, finally angers his father enough to be cut off from the family. Neil believes it is only a matter of time before he is reinstated, but time is passing slowly and he needs to eat. His so-called friends have abandoned him, no one else trusts him, and it is not until he comes upon a young widow that he finds someone who needs his help as badly as he needs hers.

Teresa Clapham has been without a husband's provision and protection for over a year. Supporting her mother and daughter on the pittance her brother-in-law provides has required her to stretch every farthing. When Lord Neil arrives at her doorstep proposing he work for her to earn his keep, she sees possibility in the man everyone else has deemed an arrogant good-for-nothing.

As Lord Neil works for the first time in his life, Teresa sees in him a tender heart long repressed by his family's expectations - a heart that causes her own to open once more. But her brother-in-law John Clapham is less charmed by Teresa’s new servant. When Lord Neil discovers the secret Mr. Clapham has been keeping, he must decide whether to embrace the man Teresa believes him to be, or fall back on the privileged lifestyle he’s always known.

Surprising

When I saw there was a book about Lord Neil, I thought to myself, I would never read it! But then they were pieces revealed about him throughout the last three books that had me curious. I am so glad that I listen to this book. It is one of my favorites in the series!!!!!! I do not want to go on about any details so that I do not spoil anything for anyone. But if you had similar feelings to mine, you will not regret it if you read/ listen to this book!!!
Clean wholesome and refreshing!!!💕💕

A satisfactory reformation

I read this when it was first released and just listened to it. I enjoy this narrator. It made the story as enjoyable the second time as the first. Lord Neil was a character I wanted to see have his own story nearly from the start of the series. And Mrs Clapham was such a wonderful character.

My favorite!

I wasn’t going to listen to this one because I had listed to the others in the series and didn’t like Lord Neal at all…but I’m so so glad I did! This was the best one!! I loved getting to know the real Lord Neal but I admit I cried several times over his heartbreaking lonely life! Always thankful for HEA!
Soooo good!

Second chances and finding a love so true

This story was such a touching one. The beginning...that was downright heartbreaking. It was so sad and coupled with how the narrator read it, it touched something deep within. It was a hard road for all the characters and some of the revelations were surprising. It did provide though such a wonderful definition of love.

Fantastic!!

You won't want to put it down! The whole series is expertly written, and if you get the audible version the narrator is AMAZING! Her ability to change her voice to the different characters is awesome, even the male voices!! You will Never be confused as to who is speaking!!

My favorite Britton book so far!

I LOVED this redemption story...

I was so intrigued that Lord Neil had a story in this series and a reformation and a romance, I was curious what it would entail and how I would feel about the characters, especially Neil. Neither Neil nor Teresa's lives were what they had expected or desired but they were willing to work hard and persevere and find happiness. If Lord Neil can change and improve, then it's possible for anyone.

This story was natural, heartwarming, transforming, engaging and hopeful. I highly recommend this well written and well read audiobook for fans of sweet and clean Regency Romance and Sally Britton's books!

Love this story!

This was another great installment in the Inglewood series! I am so glad that Neil was able to get his own story since we get to see him slowly changing over the course of a few of the books in the series.  Britton is amazing at writing characters that feel real and that her reader's can connect with and I loved the characters in this book!  I loved seeing the growth in all the characters throughout the book and how their relationships grew.  It was so fun to see a few characters from the other books in the series in Neil's story as well! I loved how everything played out and loved the setting! I hope there are more books in this series! I highly recommend this book and series to Regency romance fans!

Marian Hussey does a great job narrating this book!
