The test of a Chinese asteroid deflection technology went disastrously wrong, leading to the devastation of the Earth’s natural environments and its civilizations. Seven American astronauts aboard a space station witnessed the event.

Months later, the astronauts have run out of supplies and options; they must return to the planet and look for some means of survival. From high above, the prospects for food and shelter appear grim. Strategic disagreements and personality clashes among the astronauts further threaten their chances. Their best hope is to find survivors and re-form some sort of viable community. But with resources scarce, will survivors be welcoming?
