Redemption’s Promise

I have enjoyed all of the books I’ve read or listened to by Sandi Rebert. The promise of redemption/God’s grace, is woven throughout the book. There are many twists and turns throughout the story and sometimes surprising endings.
Highly recommend it!

A beautiful story of forgiveness and grace

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. I was so invested in the story. The major themes that struck out were love, forgiveness, second chances and many more. I love how the characters have their own unique voices. It is a good book! I highly recommend.

I listened to this in one day during my travels on my mini me only vacation.

I loved it! Every time I stopped I was rushing to get back into my truck to listen. Once I got to my destination I listened while getting a massage and then to the rest at my air bnb while in the jacuzzi.

The story kept me engaged. I got attached to the characters and they kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I did predict a few things, while others things were a surprise.

I liked the Roman and Jewish culture in this book, it was neat to learn

This was a beautiful story of redemption and forgiveness, 2 things that are hard for me, so I am always drawn to these types of stories.

At the end of the audiobook the author said she was or might be working on a follow up to these characters. I have not looked yet to see if that has happened, but I would definitely read it and more by this author.

I did not realize until after listening that the author was also the narrator. She did an amazing job with the different characters!

Wonderful allegory of how God adopts us into his family.

This audio book of Redemption’s Promise captured my attention on the very first page as Sandi did such an amazing job narrating the story and adding a different voice to each character, therefore engrossing me into the story so deeply that I listened to it in one sitting. Redemption’s Promise is about a 16 year old boy named Jason, whose father was an insurrectionist who was killed because of his actions. Jason’s mother is missing and he is searching for her and lands in serious trouble for that. For his punishment, he must choose between being put to death, becoming a slave or being adopted by a Roman Centurion and becoming a faithful Roman citizen. He chooses adoption, desiring to use it to his advantage and continue his father’s mission and defy the Roman government. He hears about Jesus, and thinks that Jesus will help him as he is the Messiah who was prophesied by the patriarchs of the Jewish people who will save Israel from the Romans or so he thinks. Will he successfully succeed with his plan or will he end up in a situation worse than when he started? As he hears more about Jesus, and talks to his beloved Priest, friends and even a Pharisee, and most importantly, the Scriptures, he wonders if what he is thinking is correct or is he completely misunderstanding what Jesus came to do? What does he encounter as he digs farther into the Scriptures seeking the truth about the Messiah? Will he find the truth he is seeking and will he find the answers about his mother, and if so, will they be the answers and truth he desires or something else that will destroy everything that he feels is the truth? This book kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat with all the suspense, and action and I kept wanting to know more, as I engrossed myself into the story and characters in this book. It had a bit of a love story in it, but it was very sweet and fit well into the story and was not overwhelming.
Sandi Rebert narrates the perfect mix of suspense, action, and romance in this wonderful audio book. Because she wrote and narrated the story so well, she had me really engrossed in the characters of Jason, Ruth and even the Centurion, rooting for them to make the right decisions, seeing what will happen next, and so much more. She made me feel like I was there seeing the story unfold before my eyes, especially with each character’s different voice that really helped make the story so much more interesting and exciting. I rarely get engrossed in the storyline like that and that to me is because Sandi did an amazing job writing, narrating and describing the storyline, I believe she did that very effectively because of her work in writing and narrating plays for her church. I usually don’t like listening to audiobooks, but Sandi did an amazing job narrating the characters, scenes and plot in her book, therefore making me feel like I was watching an excellent movie instead of listening to an audiobook, especially with all the action and suspense that was in it, along with her talent of keeping you engaged in the story while not making you fall asleep as some stories and narrators do. I loved the way she took the time to detail and describe certain things in her story. I also love how the gospel is weaved throughout the book, and how important that it is shared in every Christian book. I highly recommend this audio book and am definitely going to be reading the next book in this story.

Draws you in from page one!

Redemption’s Promise is a beautiful biblical historical novel that drew me in from the start. The characters felt real and relatable, and I loved watching their emotional and spiritual growth throughout the story. Sandi Rebert does a wonderful job showing how God’s promises unfold in His perfect timing. A touching and faith-filled read

The beauty of redemption

Redemption’s Promise is a good story highlighting redemption in a number of forms and how it can change a life. Great characters and an interesting storyline. The author is the narrator and did a very good job. Overall a very enjoyable read and I look forward to the sequel.

A Story Rich in History

The Story was full of rich lessons for our own lives. Family secrets and dysfunction, Roman control of Jewish people, the struggle to give up one's own belief for something new, hope of a forbidden romance, friendship including betrayal and forgiveness, adventure and surprises, and running throughout the story was this this truth, Redemption's promise is not for the Jew alone, but for all men who will turn to Him in repentance abd faith.
The author narriated the book herself and discernment a fabulous job. every person had their own voice. Shecreally brought the story to life. I lived this book and am anxiously waiting book 2.

intriguing

I enjoyed this historical biblical fiction book set in Jerusalem around the time of Jesus’ crucifixion. The author did an amazing job explaining terms that are not commonly used today. A favorite quote, “Redemption’s promise is not for the Jew alone but for all men, everywhere, who will turn to Him in repentance and faith.”

Such a beautiful story full of God’s redemptive grace.

A beautiful story of redemption for all of us who don’t deserve God’s unending grace. I listened to the audio version and Sandi does a phenomenal job with the voices and making each character unique. You can see, throughout the whole book, that she put her heart and soul into this beautiful story. A must read and perfect for Easter!

Life is messy, but God is so faithful.

This story is full of twists and turns that keep you engaged and wondering how everything is going to work out. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, it sends me a curve ball. I fell in love with the characters, Jason, Ruth, and maybe even the centurion is okay. It’s heartbreaking at times and life giving at others. I hope that all who read this falls deeper in love with God and understands that He is always faithful and working even if we cannot see it. And even when we do not understand. I’m excited for book 2 to come out and looking forward to reading it.
