THE BIGGEST JOKE SINCE WOMEN WERE INVENTED

BOOJUM
Besides this being very political, the main character is a teenage wise A ss. Heinlein who was married three times, never had any children of his own, but seems to think he is an expert in how to raise our children. This character shows very little respect for his parents or any authority. In the book they take it to the extreme, but leading up to the extreme this kid is constantly bucking the system. Heinlein believes you must have guns to have freedom and thanks it is okay for teenagers to have guns. There are than several times when the kid comes close to killing someone over the smallest slight. I did not like the main character and I thought the story was weak. I normally love Heinlein's juvenile books were he shows hard work and a "I can do it" attitude gets great things accomplished. This is not one of those.

I love Heinlein. this is a classic that I can listen to with my kids and enjoy over and over. The narrator performed very well and brought the story to life.

RED PLANET--- by Robert A. Heinlein

One of Heinlein's best 'juvenile' books, though the themes and content go a surprisingly long way beyond what is expected from even a modern Y/A novel---a very engaging book, even if modern scientific knowledge of Mars tells us there aren't any canals...

Another Excellent Juvee Novel from Heinlein

Very good performance. Entertaining for young adults of all ages. It went at brisk pace and before I knew it was over.

Pure enjoyment

Part of the magic of this book is when it was written. Heinlein envision of the future is amazing. This is young adult fiction written from a boys view but still a delightful sci-fi read.

Still as moving a read 50 years later.

Great story!

Loved it. Excellent story for teenage boys but enjoyable across a wider readership. Good narration. Gripping description of alien landscape.

Enjoyable classic Heinlein

I found this one to be a nice easy and enjoyable story that still had some nice “thought stimulation” aspect to it.
I enjoyed the picture it painted of Mars colonisation and the relationship between humans and Martians
