The concept of the "credit commons" is something articulated at length in Thomas Greco's 2009 book The End of Money and the Future of Civilization, along with a thorough description of how it can be reclaimed from monopoly control.
In November of 2010, the International Commons Conference: Constructing a Commons Based Policy Platform Economy was sponsored by the Heinrich Böll Foundation, in Berlin, Germany.
In this six-minute presentation, Greco points out that credit is a crucial aspect of "the commons" which has been generally overlooked. Reclaiming it is crucial to any attempt to promote social justice, economic equity, democratic government and a world that works for everyone.
