Publisher's summary

After a journey through time and space and a nightmarish world, two young boys come home to find themselves under a new world order. The place they left behind has changed. A new threat has started to rise, and things look bleak, hopeless. In Rebirth, the final chapter of The CORT Chronicles, Andy and Zack hope to alter the future by saving the present.

After 20 years, David D. Bernstein brings his sci-fi/fantasy trilogy to a close with a thrilling escape from our reality - into an alternate one where good eventually rises again.

The ending feels right

Time travel stories should leave readers wondering, and the conclusion to Bernstein’s series feels right. Some of the things it left me wondering, however are whether he missed some opportunities to develop the characters better, with unique voices and responses to situations that would make them feel more genuine. It’s a lot for someone like me to wade through suspension of disbelief issues to get to a satisfying conclusion.
