Publisher's Summary

Reese White has spent her whole life trying so hard to be perfect that when she looks in the mirror, she doesn't know the person staring back at her. Sure, she's always gotten high grades and excelled academically, but she's never put much time into herself. Now, as she heads off to college, Reese realizes she's remained so hidden inside a book that she's invisible to everyone, including herself.

Kellin Lake has always seen Reese, his little sister's best friend, the beautiful girl hidden behind baggy clothes and good grades - but he's hiding, too - even from her. Tattoos, lip piercing, and being a lead singer in a metal band, he's a rebel without a cause. But that's just to the people at school. At home, he covers it all up, and he's the boy with the angel's voice and a 4.0 only his parents know about.

When Reese flips the switch and takes control of her looks, they make an arrangement - pretend to be in a relationship to elevate Reese's social status. It's simple. Kellin helps his sister's best friend, and Reese isn't invisible anymore. No one falls in love. No one gets hurt. But what Reese doesn't realize is Kellin is already in love with her.

And now things get a hell of a lot more complicated.

Fans of Kasie West, Cookie O'Gorman, and Monica Murphy will fall in love with this coming-of-age romance series that tackles love, friendship, and moving on from painful pasts. Each novel stands alone with characters you're sure to love.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Enjoyable & Heartfelt!

I thoroughly enjoyed this third book of Cassandra Giovanni’s “Boys of Fallout” series. She continues to create original storylines that are captivating from start to end. The setting of this book is different than the first two books, the characters are not touring in this book, it does not focus much on the band either. In each book the characters came into their own, whether it was career wise or romantically. This one focuses on both as well as identity. Reese White and her best friend Lindy Lake are new freshman, Lindy’s brother Kellen is a senior at the same college and the three of them will sharing a home together off campus. Kellen is a business major by day and a rebel rocker by night. His band, Beneath, mostly plays the college scene, they have a following and caught the eye of the record label. The only problem is his parents have different expectations for him, which do not include rock bands and tattoos. He and Reese share a special bond, the two even concoct a plan to have a fake relationship. The plan goes haywire when they realize their feelings for each other are not fake. But Reese feels he is not living his life for himself, that he is making choices to please others. When the band is offered a deal with the record label they turn it down, it is not the life want, but then Kellen refuses another offer and Reese takes things in her own hand hoping to change his mind. Like the other stories, it is well plotted with plenty of drama and emotions and a wonderful romance. Each book in this series can be enjoyed on their own, I recommend them all, they are enjoyable, entertaining, heartfelt and real. Plus they have great characters. Cassandra Giovanni, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Kaye Anderson is a wonderful narrator and talented voice artist. She brings the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Her portrayal of the characters is spot on, they sound as you picture them to be. She sets the perfect tone for the story, she projects the characters emotions into her performance, also adds a dramatic touch which enhances the story another level of greatness. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Kaye Anderson, thank you for another fabulous listen🎧

Great Read

Rebel Cause: Boys of Fallout, Book Three was a great read by Cassandra Giovanni. Reese has always wanted to be perfect even though she doesn't recognize herself when she looks in the mirror. She has always been considered a nerd and didn't put much time into herself. She is invisible to everyone because of how she has always put school first. Kellin, has noticed Reese and always cared about her. Reese is his little sister's best friend. He has also hid himself from his family. He has hid his tattoos, lip piercing and the fact that he's the lead singer in a band. After going to college, Reese decides to take control of her life and it brings her and Kellin closer together. I loved reading Reese and Kellin's story. Kaye Anderson did a great job of bringing life to the characters, I cant wait to read more by Cassandra Giovanni.

Five Stars
This is the third book in the Boys of Fallout series and I have listened and enjoyed them all. I have to say this is my favorite so far. I love the aspect that is shown of the music business thought this series and how it affects the individuals involved. Reese and Kellin’s story is of growing up and into the people they truly are. The narration by Kaye Anderson was wonderful as usual. She really knows how to bring the characters to life. I highly recommend this book, series and author and am looking forward to listening to more books in the future.

Cute & Engaging

This story is all about knowing yourself & accepting your self as you are and not hiding your real self from the world. It’s coming to age romance and the characters were relatable and likable. The romance between the two protagonist Reese & Kellin was super cute and so adorable. I enjoyed the narration and the narrator did a fantastic job keeping me engaged. This end of the story was open ended and I was thinking now what next . The author is new for me and so is the narrator but I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this book.

Loved it!!!

Reese and Kellin are an adorable couple. Reese is such an adorable girl who just doesn’t see in herself what others know is there. Kellin has been biding his time, and when the time is right he shows her what everyone else already knew.

I really enjoyed this book, and hadn’t read the others before this.

An adorable love!

There isn't enough I can say about this story except I really really hope there is a next book that picks up where this leaves off! I felt like the narrator did a great job at matching what I really think Reese would sound like. She really got me into the story and made the rest of the world fall away. I fell in love with Reese and Kellin story and would love to hear more.

This story is so relatable. Both are hiding who they really are, so afraid to to be judged and abandoned. Reese is brave. I love the way she comes out of her shell and makes a move out of love to help Kellin come out of his. I love the way Kellin is one of the most desired guys, yet he has loved Reese for everything she was for years. Their love is so honest and real. This book is a must read!!!

Such a Cute Romance!

I really enjoyed listening to this cute romance. The whole story is very well written. The characters and their relationships are very well developed and highly relatable. Part of this coming of age romance is the characters accepting themselves and learning to not hide themselves from the world, outwardly.

I loved all the characters! Reese and Kellin's romance is just so adorable. The story flows so smoothly, it makes sense and is wrapped up neatly at the end. This book is a good standalone, even though it is in a series.

The narrator did a wonderful job keeping the listener engaged and wanting more.

I look forward to more by this author and narrator.

a slow story for me. I had a hard time connecting with Reese. Lindy was a snob. rhe story started out slow but about 60%in it seemed to go someplace.
while this story wasnt for me, it may be for you.

Interesting story with solid narration

I liked this story. it's a slightly different approach on the genre and I enjoyed it. It ended rather abruptly which shocked me slightly as I wasn't expecting it to end where it did. I would like to know what happens next.

Kay Anderson does a great job with the narration. She allowed me to forget the narration and just enjoy the story.

Wonderfully Narrated

Another throughly enjoyable story written by Cassandra Giovanni and wonderfully narrated by Kaye Anderson.

Rebel Cause is book 3 in the Boys of Fallout series although this one does have a slightly different setting as with this one there is no band on tour, 'Beneath' are more of a college band to begin with.

Reese is in love with her best friends brother Kellen.
He's in the rock band, Beneath. When Reese and Lindy, Kellen's sister move in with him whilst attending college he and Reese soon find themselves in a pretend relationship but is that what it really is or could it be so much more?

Although this is book 3 in the series each book can be read as a complete standalone.

Cute story, fun listen

I enjoyed Reese’s adventure in self expression and becoming the woman she’d always felt she was on the inside. Unlike the first two books in the series, the band wasn’t on tour and instead we took a journey in the personal lives of Kellin and Reese. It was a cute story.

Kaye Anderson narrated the story well and was enjoyable to listen to.

Another great listen

The third in a series of stand-alone a which I like. They do make references to the first two books but I didn’t think it was enough that you couldn’t listens without having read the first two. Great book, I love the fake relationship to real aspect.

Best to read others in series first

While the story does stand alone without having read the others in the series, there are enough references to and conversations with previous characters that it would be better to have read the other books first. Since I liked the characters in the first two books, I liked their appearance here.

I thought the narrator did a better job with this book compared to the first two in the series because her voice sounded less unique and better suited to sound like a different character. That or I got use to it after time. It was still difficult to tell apart characters by voice only, and I had a really tough time figuring out when Reese was speaking out loud vs. talking to herself.

There were a few things about the story itself that I found odd. It was strange that the book teaser details describe events through 12 chapters (2.5 hours into the book), and then it was another 2 hours after that before it tied into the boys of fallout series. And then, especially compared to the pace in 90% of the book, it just kind of ended abruptly. Not what I would call a cliffhanger, but with a very open-ended finish.

Despite all of that, I still really liked the series and would like to read about more of the characters (as well as more of Reese and Kellin's story).

The third book in The Boys of Fallout series, coming of Age story,
In my opinion is a reminder that honesty is the best policy, your not always judged by your outer shell or your particular interests, go with your own life not what you think someone else wants you to do.

Good but!

I felt like this book was targeted at a young adult/teenage audience so for me it felt a little young in it's content. All that being said I did enjoy it. Again the narration was good as with the whole series.
