In these two letters to the Thessalonian Christians, Apostle Paul was essentially recapping and reaffirming the revelation he had received from the Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit and had previously explained to the church in Thessalonica during ministry visits. Those who reject the Gospel of Christ will receive God's punishment during the tribulation, which will be an unspeakably terrible experience. God provided an escape and antidote. All who accept him will be spared the well-deserved wrath of God when it is poured out in the "end times" when "there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth" as the world has never known.
