Valerie had a crush on her brothers college roommate ever since he brought him home for Thanksgiving. There is an unwritten rule in the house of 3 brothers, No one messes with their sister. Flynn was smitten with this gorgeous 15 year old. he wanted her but out of respect for his friend and because of her age, he didnt act on his desires.
There was an instant connection between the two. Flynn left college to become s rock star.
Her mom and dad had to leave town when tragedy devastated the family, leaving Valerie with her aunt. Flynn came to help her thru her grief. He was the big rock star that took time out of his life for her many times. I loved the slow burn, romance between the two. It started as forbidden lust to a love, romance. Valerie experienced many heartbreaks, and Flynn was always there for her to help pick up the pieces. this is an emotional rollercoaster that had me sobbing, a story with many tears .Great character development as we see how the characters grew into maturity.
Anne Marie Damman narration was superb. Every emotion, every voice , every character was perfection! She flawlessly transitioned from one character to another. Thank you for the great listen!

Emotional!!

This is a great audio. An emotional rollercoaster as I am listening to the story.... I stop and my heart is just breaking at points of what happens. Definitely emotional listen when tragedy strikes Valerie and her family. Hearing the back story as well of Flynn.... just tore at my heartstrings. The narrator is fantastic as well. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Valerie is a girl protected by her 3 older brothers and parents, no one seems good enough when she meets Flynn. There were times I just wanted to scream at her for the moves she makes and others I would have applauded. There were times I couldn’t believe Flynn the rock star would put up with Valerie’s crap. In short, this book will keep you guessing and wanting more!

Ready for Flynn is an AMAZING coming of age story with lots of emotional ups and downs. K.L. Shandwick takes you on a superbly crafted emotional ride with young Valerie's love story.
The character development is perfect, as the book takes you from a young puppy crush to love without borders.
I especially appreciated the development of Valerie. The way she changes from a you naive girl into a strong independent young woman, but she her heart doesn't harden after all the turmoil she's gone through.

Anne Marie also did an amazing job with the narration. Her transition between characters is flawless.

One of my favorites of this year.

Compelling

Wow. This audiobook kept me completely glued to the story. Shandwick is a relatively new author to me and proving to be a must read. I thought the narrator did a beautiful job providing an emotional depth and connection to the story. I can’t wait to continue the series and see what comes next.

Heartbreaking

Valerie is a 15-year-old who developed a crush on her brothers roommate when he was brought home for Thanksgiving. Sparks fly between the two, but Flynn is warned off by her brother. Because of his love and respect for his roommate he doesn't act on his feelings. Flynn feels that the best course of action is to leave Valerie alone until she is ready to move forward with a relationship if she so chooses. At first she is upset that he left without a good-bye, but over time she does her best to get over him. She soon starts to date a young man that she grew up with and whom her family seems to like very well. Flynn of course has always been in the back of her mind and she has kept up to date with him once she found out he dropped out of school to become a rock star. When tragedy strikes and she loses several people she loves in an accident, Flynn is there by her side to help her though it all. Will there ever be a time when he doesn't answer her call? He is a big celebrity now and has millions of people watching every aspect of his life while Valerie is a small town girl living on a farm. Listening to all the heartache Valerie had to endure while she was going through her teen years was tough. I admit I cried a bit, but there were also moments that made me smile and laugh. I enjoy reading books, but to hear the emotion behind words is sometimes more powerful than what is written on the page. Both the author and narrator did a great job bringing these characters to life and making them relatable.

Ready for Flynn

Ready For Flynn, Part 1 AUDIO BOOK by K.L. Shandwick was an emotional listen. I loved the author's attention to detail and the narrator's ability to bring it all to life. You get swept into Valerie's life and like everyone's life at 15 it is dramatic. I enjoyed Flynn's character and the fact that he kept coming back for Valerie. I went through a ton of emotions and loved every minute of it. This book was definitely a great escape.

Little sister however is off limits! Valerie is a 16 year old who has everything she could ask for. Her older brothers are her protectors, and she admires them as well. But when tragedy strikes her whole world is crushed. Now she needs to work past everything and the one person she can depend on is off limits. No Spoilers in this review!

K.L. Shandwick wrote this heartbreaking story. It is fast paced and easy to read. Except when you are crying your eyes out. Your emotions are about to take the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime. I love the characters and their strengths, especially Valerie. She has to be the strongest young lady I have ever read about. I would have loved a friend like her. K.L. Shandwick again you have not disappointed your readers. Well Done K.L. Shandwick. Well Done!

READY FOR FLYNN, PART 1 (READY FOR FLYNN SERIES)

This is a first author for me. I loved this story and the narration was fantastic. This story was amazing and well thought out with consistent word building to keep you on the edge of your seat. This story follows Valerie from the times she’s 15 till she’s almost 19. The trials and life situations she has to endure hard heart and soul shattering. Everything about this story is great. There were a few times I wanted to yell at her, but it’s been a real long time since I was 15. Which with all the emotion this book brought out in me I’d have to say it was FANTASTIC! Can’t wait for the next part in Flynn and Valerie’s story.

An emotional roller coaster

Ready for Flynn: Part 1 by K L Sandwick is a wonderful love story that will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Valerie is a 15 year old girl who is strong who refused to “do it” with her boyfriend when he pressured her. When this happened, the boyfriend ended up finding someone else to take her place which happened to be Valerie’s best friend. To help Valerie through this rough time, her family sends her to her aunt’s. While emotionally recuperating, Valerie helped her aunt deal with her home after her uncle’s death.

Valerie’s three older brothers are very protective of her when it comes to guys. When Valerie comes home right before Thanksgiving, she is excited to see her brothers. The brother she feels closest to is Martin. Martin brings his roommate Flynn home with him so Flynn doesn’t spend Thanksgiving alone. Valerie and Flynn have an instant connection but there is no way they can get together because of her young age and her protective family. This doesn’t stop them from learning more about each other and their feelings get stronger between them but Flynn ends up stepping away from her and the family.When tragedy strikes and Rocks Valerie’s world, Flynn comes back to help her and be there for her.

This is a well written story with a lot of growth by the main characters. It grabs your heart and you will want to keep reading. I’m so glad this is just part 1 since I want to learn more of what happens.

The narrator, Anne Marie Damman does a wonderful job. Her narration helped me to really feel what the characters were going through.

beautiful, emotional story - excellent narration

I knew before I started listening to this that is was probably going to be a tear jerker......understatement!!  This book was an incredible rollercoaster of emotion.  Did I need tissues?  Absolutely, a whole ton of them. There were times of utter heart-break where I had tears streaming down my face, but it was equally balanced with humour, family banter, drama and an off the charts chemistry between two people who met just a little bit too soon before they were able to really act on it. 

I didn’t know very much about the story (other than the blurb) before I started and I’m glad, so I don’t want to give anything away here.  I will say that the story built from the start.  Valerie is very young for a lot of the book - 15/16. Her character really grows and develops throughout even though she only reaches 18 by the end.  She has moments of immaturity in her actions and reactions, but they were totally in context.  She acted her age and I’m pleased the author didn’t try to make her too mature. She felt real and I loved that, even if I didn’t always like what she did and said!  There was so much depth to Flynn, I loved him more and more as the book went along.  He really tried to do the right thing, even though it hurt. With all he went through, he was a beautiful man.

I listened to the audio version and loved it, I couldn’t wait to get in my car each day to drive to work so I could listen more. The narrator was excellent and had a lovely expressive voice (all from Valerie’s POV)

This was a fantastic start to the series.  It kind of ends on a cliff hanger, but not a huge one but I’m going straight on to part 2. Flynn and Valerie are intriguing, strong, sexy and have such a strong bond.  I can’t wait to find out what happens in their lives next.  Highly recommended!

"Contagious & Addictive"

Valerie and Flynn were contagious & addictive. I was a big fan of Valerie and Flynn throughout the whole book.

Although in the beginning Valerie was only 15 and quite mature for her age, but she wasn't ready for Flynn.

Throughout the book you can understand why the book was titled; "Ready For Flynn," because that's all that Valerie kept hearing from family and even Flynn.

When Valerie was 16 she had tragedy strike that devastated her and put her in a very dark place. And the one person that she never thought she would see again, showed up to be her rock, her strength, to be that shoulder, it was Flynn.

He came back wanting to console her through this devastating time. Valerie wanted to hate him because he left her but at that moment she needed his strength.That's why I said that the storyline was so addictive because you find yourself fighting for these two characters to find their way to each other because it was obvious that the love was there.

I'm not a big fan of cliffhangers only because you may have to wait awhile to get the 2nd or 3rd book to learn how the story ends, and that's the case here. I'm dying to know how this love story will end. I have so many questions but I know I won't get my answers until Pts. 2 & 3.

The narrator Anne Marie Damman was out of this world wonderful world with all the characters!!!
She deserves her own 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I can't even think of all the words to cheer for the author
K. L. Shandwick and what she brought to the table with book 1.
It sounds like words from experience. I now wait for the other 2 books. I can't wait to find out what's happening with my favorite couple.

Really enjoyed the story to this book. I have enjoyed the narration I found her voice nice and she differences her voice between characters
This had some very sweet and some very steamy scenes. My favourite character was Flynn. I loved his flaws and his passion.

Absolutely amazing

This book is truly fantastic. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions that had me crying like a baby. My throat is so sore but I would listen to it again! The emotion captured by this author is absolutely brilliant. It’s a great storyline and strong characters. Amazing narration from Anne, very emotional. Highly recommended.

Breath Taking

Valerie is a young beautiful country girl and Flynn is her older brother's sexy college friend. They met when comes to visit during the Thanksgiving holiday and it was love at first sight for the both of them. She just had her heart broken and he was there to pick up the pieces, but she was forbidden and he was to old. Flynn kept trying to do the right thing and stay away. But tragedy after tragedy keeps bring them back together. When she becomes of age he can no longer stay away. This was an amazing love story and can't wait for more. This is a must read.

Wait... did you grab the tissues?

Oh… my… word! I seriously was not ready for this story! I didn’t know… I didn’t have any idea what I was getting myself into when I hit play on this audiobook. But there I was sniffling through a big chunk of it. So this here, this is your warning… bring tissues and walk gently because your heart is gonna go bye bye! I like Valerie. The girl has been sheltered her entire life. Sigh, the story is incredible. It’s so full of emotion. So full of heart. And Flynn, I mean, wow! He stole the show and everyone’s heart!

Anne Marie Damman was fabulous with this narration. Everything just flowed so well together… the story is a heart breaker and Miss Damman’s voice was a great addition to the story. I’m pretty antsy to listen to part 2!

Was I ready for Flynn, I have to say no, I wasn’t!
This coming of age, age gap, rock star, progressive relationship story, at first perplexed me I kept wondering where is this author going with this story? Never in my wildest imagination did I expect the angst, devastation, overwhelming emotion, that she evoked. I have to say I’m in awe, watching this bratty teenager with a crush evolve into a headstrong woman kudos Ms. Shandwick.
I definitely want to see where this story leads.

Ready for Flynn 1 introduces you to Valerie Darsin, her family and their friends. She meets Flynn Docherty, a college buddy of her eldest brother and best friend Martin.

Amazing...

I loved this book when I read it. I forgot how emotional the story is. The audio bought all the emotions flooding back tears and all. I can't wait to hear book 2.

Brilliant

Loved this book and having Ann reading it was fantastic, she did great doing the different voices, looking forward to the next audio book in the series x
