Publisher's Summary

Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves.

It should have been enough.

And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack...and won.

Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.

But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within.

Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.

As good as it gets

Just finished listening to Ravensong and was not disappointed. Will begin my second listen in a few hours. As this is a long book and I'm impatient, I listened the first time with no breaks. I did fall asleep as it is long but having read the book I was able to pick up the storyline easily. This next time I will take breaks when feeling tired. TJ Klune captures the characters of this world and is true and consistent with each one. He spends a remarkable story of friend, family, and why you should surround yourself with your own made family either by relation of blood or by bond. Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators. I have listen to all the books he has graced us with his voice. When TJ completes the 3rd book I hope he sticks with Kirt as the narrator. It would be a shame and disservice to his fans if he doesn't. I'm not a believer in rehashing the story beyond the editors notes and sometimes it does the book a disadvantage in doing so. My recommendation is to read the books in order beginning with Wolfsong then Ravensong. Then listen to both.

Top notch

Perfect definition of a sequel. I actually like this book better than the first. The first had some parts that dragged, but this one just flows. It does well complementing and advancing the overall story. Can't wait for the next!

ANOTHER HOME RUN!!!

This series continues to leave me speechless. Every time I think it couldn’t possibly get better TJ surprises me yet again! Never has a series resonated with me the way this one does. I feel like I’m personal friends with each of the characters that TJ has created and let’s not forget Kirt! If I could give him more than 5 stars I would! He does an amazing job of bringing each character to life. I feel as though I just watched a movie not read a book! I’m so excited for the next installment! Bravo TJ! Bravo!

Can't even wait until book 3!!

Loved it. I was surprised how much I loved the first book since I was a wolf novel virgin. But now I'm hooked. Super immersive stories and excellent narration.

Poetic and engaging. Really good narration

I really loved the first in this series. The second is a close second. So well written, especially for narration. The repetition of certain parts is poetic. A continuation of a great story from another character's perspective, there's a good balance of action, paranormal fantasy and romance.

Amazing!

This series is everything.
I fell in love with Gordo.
The whole Bennett pack is just awesome.
TJ Klune has such an amazing ability in writing such multi-dimensional characters.
The story just sucks you right in.
I cannot believe that ending and am eagerly anticipating Heartsong!
Kirt Graves is just a master! The talent he brings to this series just never stops!
All of the amazing voices he does, the emotions of the characters are brought to life in such a fantastic way!
All the stars for this book and narrator!

OMG

let me start by saying I will routinely “rate” audible books by giving my stars, but there is only one other narrator I HAD to write a review for (Michael Lesley!) So, I read the book first and I loved it-TJ never disappoints. When I heard this audible version it blew my mind. Kirt was amazing-it wasn’t just his voice that was great, but the emotion was so very evident that at times I had tears in my eyes. I was mesmerized and felt the angst, drama, and suspense every step of the way. So, so good! But this, you won’t regret it!!!

Go get this right now! But only if you’ve listening to Wolfsong first.

Kirt’s narration brings this story to life to a different degree. Reading Ravensong was all the tears, so many laughs, and eeeeeps everywhere! But hearing this story is beyond amazing. I like many have been waiting so patiently and it was worth the wait by far.
*returns to the beginning to listen all over again*

So much love for packpackpack

I loved Wolfsong with all my heart. But this one?

1.5 stars

Who the hell takes 10 days to listen to an audiobook? Someone who constantly put it down in disgust or boredom or was afraid her eyes would get stuck because she rolled them so often. I put it to bed this afternoon at 90%. After 10 days I couldn’t take it anymore. "That's a long wait for a train don't come."

Sophomoric/lazy writing, repetitive, frustrating, depressing, far too long, and flat-out exhausting. We never really get to see all this magical power the author has endowed on Gordo (who was truly unlikable for most of this book), and that felt like a betrayal. It felt like Gordo couldn't have protected himself if he'd had a fully-loaded M16 and a backup rocket launcher. What fight scenes there were... terribly disappointing. The primary antagonist (a hunter) was truly a sanctimonious caricature of villainy. Her religious, self-righteous speeches in the audiobook made me want to find an ice pick for my ears.

I think the author made a mistake writing this book (narrated by Gordo) with the same clipped, simplistic, repetitive language and cadence he used in Wolfsong. It worked brilliantly for Ox, but it doesn’t work here. This isn't the way I pictured Gordo speaking, thinking, or acting. And since I listened only to the audio version of the story, I have to add a similar comment about narrator Kirt/Kurt Graves who also performed Wolfsong. He was a good choice for that story, but he was absolutely the wrong voice actor for this book. His limited vocal range and monotonic delivery really showed here. Even in present day, almost everyone sounded like teenagers. Some sounded drunk, drugged, or mentally challenged.

I feel bereft, as I loved Wolfsong with all my heart. Even the few awesome moments in this story will never encourage me to read on in the series. No more Green Creek. No more Tj Klune.

Pure brilliance

Sometimes there are moments of pure brilliance when a great author and a great narrator collaborate to make an audio story more than the sum of its parts. Ravensong (and Wolfsong too) is one of these rare occurrences - it’s a beautiful tale full of complex characters and emotion, and Kirt’s narration elevates all is this and brings it to life in a way I don’t think any other narrator could achieve. Pure brilliance.

Really drew me into the story

I am always astonished by how varied TJ Klune’s books are. This series is completely different to any of the other books I’ve listened to by them. This story slowly hooked me in and got me more and more absorbed until I was really sad when it was over. The rating slowly crept up in my mind during that time. It’s so thoroughly thought out in terms of plot and characters, and the slightly odd use of language went from being odd and distracting at the start, to strangely endearing by the time the book finished. Really looking forward to the next book in the series.

Another superb performance from Kirt...

All I can say is that Kirt's narration of this monster audio is just as brilliant as his narration of Wolfsong. The only quibble I had was the fact that Patrice's accent seemed to vary from N'Awlins to the West Indies...but a very minor point indeed. Fab-u-lous!! 5 well-deserved stars.

***Book Review***

5 stars from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Enjoyed this one so much more than Wolfsong, and I thought that was stunning!! There was humour [thank goodness 😁], I loved the interactions between Gordo and the rest of the guys at the garage, there were plenty of feels and the love...the second chance love between Gordo and Mark was there on every page for all to see, even if it took Gordo quite a while to get with the programme and forgive Mark and the rest of the wolves for leaving him behind...😉. There were tears too from this reader [it's a TJ story...what can I say?? 😢], and so much disgust for Michelle Hughes [traitorous b***h that she is] that I can only hope she and Gordo's dad, the hated Robert Livingstone [who the heck invited him to come back?? 😲], burn in the fires of hell...the sooner, the better. Methinks Robert won't find it easy to tear the big timber wolf and Carter apart either 🤣....

Gritty, touching and addictive

Writing at its very best! TJ Klune .. such a talent .. I’m so glad I discovered his books and his witty, dry humour! This series is truly addictive and surprises at every turn! Characters you care about and fight with.. being part the Bennet pack is a great place to be! Kurt Graves narration is perfect!

Waiting for book 3

This is the second book in this series i have listened to and I loooove these characters, the sense of humour the author has brought to the book, the perfect narration, the hilarious inappropriate one liners. Finding it difficult to find a new listen as i am still invested in the characters in these books. Excitedly awaiting the third instalment, please get busy TJ Klune and please keep Kurt Graves as your narrator...... Please Please Please
