It may feel like a slow start, but it’s just laying the ground work to bring this mystery together, and when it does, you’ll be willing to sit in a 50-minute backup in DC just to find out what happens. Samantha spins the tale and Lara brings it to life.

Let me explain this low score...

This story was well written, in general. there were parts where he was reading the diary that went on forever. More of that should have been revealed bit by bit over the course of the story via flashback or whatever. It was like reading one of Tolkien's descriptions. Well written but soooooooo looooooong. The brutality is extremely violent, to the point where I was sickened. I am a lightweight, so do with that what you will. I finished the book because there was enough good writing and enough good plot to endure the rest. The voice performace would have been 5 stars but was ruined by the quality of audio recording equipment used. That stuff is not that expensive anymore. Get some better equipment. Find a closet.
