Reducing the Outbursts NOW
Let's talk some truths, most of the child's behavior can be "blamed" on the person in the mirror if you don't do anything to make improvements! This book truly does help in making some changes in a child's behavior. It breaks down why a child’s intense emotions aren’t personal and how I can stay calm through it all. I found the tips on building confidence and managing outbursts super helpful, because who actually enjoys the fit in the grocery store because they can't have what they want, (or insert reason here). It’s given me new tools to communicate with my child in a different way and create a more peaceful home (if that is possible with 4 kids). If you're feeling overwhelmed with an emotionally intense kid, this truly can help you and your little one get past those hurdles and have a better relationship along with them feeling more confident about themselves and isn't that what we truly want!

Helpful Tips for Parents of Kids with ADHD
As a parent of an older child now, I know how challenging it can be to navigate the ups and downs, especially for friends with younger children struggling with ADHD. I have seen firsthand how difficult it is for them to handle explosive situations at home. The advice here is practical and focuses on empathy, which I think is so important. It gives strategies to manage meltdowns while helping parents understand the emotional triggers behind the behavior. What I appreciated most was the balance between helping your child and taking care of yourself. It's a great resource for parents who feel overwhelmed by the stress of raising a child with ADHD. The tools and tips shared are easy to implement and can make a real difference in improving communication and reducing tension at home. Highly recommended!

Refreshing and empathy based
I enjoyed the author's emphasis on the importance of emotional attunement in child development. The audiobook draws on cognitive-behavioral principles and mindfulness techniques to combat parental overwhelm and avoid angry outbursts. The discussion is science based but complex neurodevelopmental concepts are beautifully integrated and not overwhelming at all.

Exactly what I needed!!
I’ve been there. The sleepless nights, the constant worry, the feeling like I was losing my mind. I tried everything – therapy, medication, behavior modification – but nothing seemed to work. I felt isolated, alone, and like I was failing my child.
Then I discovered this audiobook. It was like a beacon of hope in the darkness. The author's empathy and understanding were immediately evident. They didn't just offer advice; they shared their own experiences, their own struggles. It felt like someone was finally seeing me, seeing my pain, and offering a lifeline.
What I love most about this book is that it's not just about parenting techniques. It's about understanding the root causes of explosive behavior, about building a stronger connection with your child, and about taking care of yourself. The author emphasizes the importance of self-care, of finding ways to recharge and stay grounded.
I've implemented many of the strategies in this book, and I've seen a significant improvement in my child's behavior. But more importantly, I've seen a positive change in our relationship. We're communicating better, we're laughing more, and we're finally starting to feel like a family again.
If you're struggling to raise an explosive child, I cannot recommend this book enough. It's a game-changer. It's a lifeline. It's a beacon of hope in the darkness.

Finally, Practical and Compassionate Advice
I’ve listen to other books on ADHD and ODD, but this one gave me tools I could start using right away. It doesn’t focus just on controlling behavior but helps parents understand their child’s unique needs. The tips for staying patient during outbursts were incredibly helpful, and I’ve noticed fewer meltdowns since trying the techniques. It’s been a relief to learn how to better support my child while also taking care of myself.

Finally, Some Peace in Our Home!
I’ve tried so many approaches to handle my child’s intense behavior, but nothing seemed to click until now. This book gave me practical advice I could actually follow, and it felt like it was written by someone who truly gets what life is like with a child struggling with ADHD and ODD. The biggest change? Our blow-ups don’t spiral out of control like they used to, and I feel less overwhelmed. If you’ve been feeling stuck like I was, this is worth the read.
