Publisher's Summary

The third novel in the beset-selling Sepentwar series. The ultimate darkness approaches.…

As the Emerald Queen's shadow lengthens once more across the land of the Midkemia, her forces stand ready to launch a devastating invasion. But come the battle's dawn, the magician Pug, and his life-long friend Tomas, will discover that something far worse than the Queen's sorcery is afoot. Swords, bows, wits, and courage will no longer be enough to defeat the descending plague.

A foul and terrible thing has escaped a devoured world to feed on one consumed by chaos; an insatiable nightmare creature which seeks to own and corrupt the source of life itself. When the final conflict is joined, reptile will stand against man and magician against demon; and those who battle for good must be victorious…or all is doomed.

Rage of a Demon King, is the third book in the Serpentwar Saga. The fourth and concluding book in the quartet is Shards of a Broken Crown.

My thoughts on this story

I enjoyed the story. The characters are well rounded but you must read the previous books to truly understand the plot. Even though there is alot of war strategy it is not over whelming or tedious but constant with the need of the story. All in all a good continuation of a sequel from a brilliant start "Magication".

same same but different

Overall it was enjoyable, at least I wanted to finish it. However I didn't really feel that there was a strong storyline, it felt a little desperate. I was almost relieved when it finished so that I could move on.

Fabulous

Classic Feist, really enjoyed listening to this. Sorry when it ended! Really like the narrator, some books are ruined by poor narrator but this isn't one of them.

Engrossing

The rift war saga is on par with the dark tower series for its depth and detailed descriptive stories. The characters are great as is the dead pan humour

Another excellent book

A great continuation in the ongoing series of this myriad of worlds. This book has some excellent highlights in its narrative and some very poignant moments in the departures of some of it's well established characters

3rd part of the Serpent war saga

A great story, very well read, a monster of an epic reaching towards a conclusion.
Heroes will fight and die, demons will be fort and answers revealed harking back to the rift war.
If you liked Magician, you’ll love this...

Serpent War Saga is a winner

Probably the best book of the four from my favourite Feist saga, it was the first series I read and will always be the best IMO.
