Publisher's Summary

Award-winning comedian Sarah Millican plays Sarah, life counsellor and modern-day agony aunt in the collected first two series of this BBC Radio 4 comedy.

Solving the nation's problems with her support group, she wants you to live life to the utmost, and she's got tons of ideas of how to help. In the same way as the busybody at the end of your street who knows everything, and supported by her team of experts (local cabbie Terry and self-qualified counsellor Marion), Sarah dishes out advice whether you want to hear it or not and tackles the nation's problems head-on, dishing out real advice for real people.

lots of laughs

Each topic was very funny. I shall happily 'dip in' occasionally a little later on and listen all over again and no doubt still laugh.

Funny lady hitting the nail on the head

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh definately yes!! Sarah is so funny, so real. No matter how daft her comments are, you can truly see them happening to someone.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I enjoyed all of the silly guests who came on and the cabbie was priceless!

Which character – as performed by Sarah Millican and full cast – was your favourite?

I loved her interviewing people.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

just laughter. We need more Sarah's in our lives.

Any additional comments?

For any Sarah fan, this is a good purchase. Drink your tea and smile as you listen to her great advice :)

Laughed and laughed some more

A great all round cast on a great twist of friends giving honest advice. Got this for travelling rather than a full novel , was perfect as this is in twenty minute sections so a good stop starter. Each section is a humorous romp through what sometimes we really want to say to those folks with no real problems . Hope there are more like this as I’ll be getting for work

Proper funny, even made me laugh 5*

We’ve all read reviews with people saying things such as “So funny tea came out my nose”, then we listen and have the occasional chuckle, but no more.

This really is funny, and yes I did laugh out loud numerous times. Proper laughing, not just a small chortle.

Wish there were more series’; these aired on BBC Radio 4 during 2010-11.

ANNOYING in the extreme!!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Whilst Sarah is funny on TV and does say some amusing things in this book, there is a constant fake laugh track and the scenes are staged as if they are spontaneous interactions when it becomes VERY clear they are all prewritten.

Had to stop listening as it was so very, VERY annoying.

MOST disappointing and I found she must think all listeners are idiots.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sarah Millican again?

Not unless it was a straight book and not a pretend performance.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

She did say some whimsical, comedic things but the enjoyability of these was eclipsed but the fake performances and annoying and repetitive laugh track.
