Publisher's Summary

The Sheriff of Nottingham is determined to punish Robin for his defiance of authority. He holds the villagers of Locksley hostage, threatening to cut out a villager's tongue every hour until Robin is found. Robin has no choice but to give himself up to protect them. But with his gang of outlaws on his side, all is not lost.

This is an exciting adventure read by Richard Armitage, who plays Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood; it also features Robin and his loyal band of brothers, as seen in the hit BBC TV series. This exciting new adaptation of the classic tale is crammed with action, humour, wit, and romance, bringing the legendary outlaw hero to life for a whole new generation.

Fun re-visit

What made the experience of listening to Robin Hood: Sheriff Got Your Tongue? (Episode 2) the most enjoyable?

I watched these episodes on TV years ago and thought it would be fun to listen to them as a story. Armitage is an excellent storyteller and I can't wait to listen to the rest of these.

What did you like best about this story?

The reader.

What about Richard Armitage’s performance did you like?

He gave each character a voice of their own and made them easier to identify.

I love this tv show so I'm probably biased but Richard Armitage is amazing as the narrator.

Character Actor Reading at Its Best

I have never watched the TV series from which these stories are taken, but I know a good impression of Keith Allen when I hear it. Sympathy for Marion throughout, as she fights for her own values, and a very creditable female voice helps. I really enjoy this audio book as a one man radio play, fun for grown-ups, and no doubt enjoyable for young boys on long journeys.

Great fun

Another fun story wonderfully read by Richard Armitage. He does all the voices so well especially the Sherriff and of course his own character Guy of Gisborne.
