Publisher's Summary

Andy Hamilton and Jay Tarses' script for Revolting People, about the American War of Independence, winningly mixes the "boom boom" school of jokes, literary silliness (jeopardy means "like a jeopard"), and anachronisms that make deft political points. Hamilton and Tarses, who has written for the Muppets and the Bob Newhart Show, appear alongside Jan Ravens (Deadringers) and James Fleet in this unmissable series, with appearences from Hugh Dennis and Michael Fenton Stevens (TWOS).

Very very good

I would recommend this to anyone who may be in need of a very silly pick me up. I love the little scenes after the final music whereby Sams daughter avoids her husbands attentions yet again. The Sargent is particularly amusing.

Revolting people 1

What did you like best about Revolting People? What did you like least?

Revolting people is a light hearted look at early American settlers and life in their town.
The lead character - a shopkeeper has two British soldiers billeted upstairs and a revolutionary for a daughter. His other daughter has married a long winded older man and spends her nights creating excuses to ban him from her bedroom. ( ie any day of the week with a D in it).
Definitely worth the time spent listening to it!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Didn't really end - a continuing story

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

No

If this book were a film would you go see it?

Yes

Genius Part 1 of 2

Sheer genius! I loved every second. Andy Hamilton always delivers.

ONLY TWO SERIES! I have Old Harry's Game, too. Listen to them round and round.

They may only be under three hours, but the quality is 100% satisfaction.

Not revolutionary comedy but very funny

Good script executed (oops General Venables snuck in there), by an excellent cast. James Fleet is always funny, though sometimes it sounds like he's playing a marginally more intelligent Hugo from The Vicar of Dibley, a role which he is famous for. Andy Hamilton and Hugh Dennis play their characters very well. Well worth the money.

Revolting People Series One

Would you try another book written by Andy Hamilton or narrated by Andy Hamilton andJay Tarses?

Its not bad , quite amusing although will never be a classic such as Elvenquest . I do like Jay Tarses voice though, very Boston , cultured . It would be good if they could poke fun at contemporary mores such as some of our celebrities, politics etc

What was one of the most memorable moments of Revolting People?

The old woman who asked for the price of one pea in Mr Oliphant's shop

What about Andy Hamilton andJay Tarses’s performance did you like?

All good, neither hog the limelight

Do you think Revolting People needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

There is a series 2 available

Any additional comments?

Its ok, not great value for money quite amusing, you would probably only listen to it a couple of times
