Great plays, great characters

I will admit I am a real Inspector McLevy fan. Maybe this is because I live in Leith myself, but I had not realised the connection when I heard my first McLevy play in the car a few years ago. I sat outside my destination for 10 minutes listening to the end - that's how good it was. David Ashton has really brought the characters to life and the wonderful portrayals of the main characters does nothing but enhance the enjoyment.

If you like Victorian dramas or whodunnits (of any period) you will not be disappointed by Inspector James McLevy.

Fantastic series

I was fortuntate to learn of the McLevy Radio 4 plays and so after becoming engrossed in one episode I hunted out more. Thankfully, seven of the series are available to download as well as a Christmas special. Quite frankly I find these McLevy radio plays simply enchanting. The acting is fantastic and whilst almost everyone will recognise Brian Cox as the amazing McLevy the entire cast deserves high praise. The stories are compelling, funny and sometimes sad yet all the while very entertaining. If you haven't given audio books or radio plays a go I'd thoroughly recommend these McLevy stories, based upon the Victorian Edinburgh detective. Quite simply superb and well worth a go.
