Good

Hearing Neil’s reactions to Elijah’s driving gave me anxiety. I taught my younger sister how to drive in a parking lot on top of a hill.

Good way to end the 1st season!

Hearing Neil’s reactions to Elijah’s driving gave me anxiety. I taught my younger sister how to drive in a parking lot on top of a hill. She drove us off the hill by hitting the gas instead of the brake...

Anyways, Lyft is testing driverless cars in Las Vegas, NV which is kinda cool. This episode was a mix of driving facts, a testimonial on why we shouldn’t drive distracted, and listening as Elijah learns how to drive while Neil panics.

Season 1 was great! Each episode was a fun, well balanced blend of father/son bonding and information!

I thought this episode would teach me about cars

Being a professional automotive journalist does not mean you are the best option for teaching your son how to drive. Writing about cars and driving them safely are two very different things. The episode starts with Elijah’s first driving lesson (the first thing was adjust the seat and buckle your seatbelt, but no mention of adjusting the mirrors), and ends with the direction technology is going when it comes to cars. As for the driving lesson, shouldn’t teaching be done in a positive, encouraging way, instead of trying to humiliate the student? Anyway, the dialogue about the future of cars was funny. I would have liked to know the basics of car ownership (maintenance, insurance, what to do with warning lights, how to check fluid levels, what expenses are involved in owning a car), or safe driving (blind spots, how to handle icy or dangerous conditions, etc.) I’m glad that distracted driving was addressed.
