Publisher's Summary

On Extra Credit, writer Neal Pollack augments his son's public school education with his own, somewhat questionable, life lessons. In this episode, after learning that some Texas schoolbooks refer to African slaves as "migrant workers," Neal takes Elijah on a road trip to Louisiana, where they visit a slavery museum on a former plantation. Thank you!

I can honestly say as an African American born and raised in Louisiana, that this was encouraging to hear someone other my own, have a genuine thirst for knowledge and the truthful accounts of American history. I hope that people of all races take the time to research other historical facts about America in order to better understand why people are still racially divided. maybe this lesson can allow the future generation to become unified. some our past generations have been trying to erase for decades.
