Publisher's Summary

Aboard the Aquitania, Rachel became aware of something strange happening to her. It was as if she were not on the deck of the ship anymore but was instead in a jungle clearing, looking at a group of brown-skinned, half-naked people. The people beckoned her to come. Suddenly the scene vanished, and Rachel fell to her knees and prayed.

When young Rachel Saint surrendered her life to God, she began an unimaginable journey that would span decades and radically transform a dying culture steeped in revenge. Against all odds, God would lead her to Ecuador's Waorani Indians - known as Aucas, or savages, and infamous for murder.

Despite the martyrdom of five missionaries by Waorani spears, Rachel boldly persisted in following God. In one of the greatest testimonies to God's grace and power in our time, this pioneering Bible translator would live for two decades with her own brother's killers, for the joy of seeing them become brothers and sisters in Christ. (1914-1994)

Warning: This Book Will Change Your Life it You Listen

Trying to write a review through tears is hard yet this book touched a spot in my heart that I thought was died in 1986 when I was told at that time by the church (actually a cult) that single women can’t go to the mission field. How wonderful to have that desire rekindled in 2022 and working toward going to the mission field at 56. This book will transform your life.

My favorite book

Hi! This is one of my favorite book from Christian heroes then and now and one of my favorite book of all time. Rachel Saint is a great christian example even when she was in the middle of tragedy of her brother's murder she still worships God and becomes a missionary for the tribe that murdered her brother, Nate and several other men. Overall, I love this book, its great!

wonderful biography of a mighty woman of God!

Loved listening to Rachel Saint's story. I've been listening to the other biographies in this series about the Waorani--first, Jim Elliot, then Nate Saint, now as I just finished Rachel's story, I've gotten a much more "rounded" picture of all that happened with the bringing of the gospel message to these people. This was the best one in this series as far as explaining the complete story. I loved learning about the Saint family, too!
What an amazing God we have!! Absolutely loved how He worked in so many peoples lives to bring the Message to this beautiful people. And this work was not for the faint of heart--it truly was an act of sacrifice, passion to see souls saved, and obedience to what they felt the Lord was calling them to do. So wonderful to hear about how so many lives were changed--highly recommended read!!
