Morgan Griffin likes to race anything. He likes to race cars, he likes to race boats, and he also likes to race planes. It doesn't matter! He also doesn't like to lose, no matter what he's racing. When he started racing Formula One planes, no one particularly noticed, until he started winning! That's when he got into trouble. Big shots with money, tied up with their own pilots and planes, also didn't like to lose, especially to an upstart newcomer like Morgan. When he and his team designed a race plane that ensured he wasn't going to lose, the 'big shots' noticed and did what they could to damage his plane and hopefully cause him to crash during a big race. Flying skills against 'big shots' trying to get you killed is what Race Pilot is all about. Flying Formula One race planes is thrilling! If you win the feature race you can make some big money...but there are other pilots and owners who don't want you to win, so you've got to be careful. It's exciting, no doubt about that...but it can also cost you your life!

Hallmark channel for air racing?

Air racing is a niche sport to be involved or interested in. And so I consume any fiction I can find on the topic, just because there isn't much out there. Unfortunately this book is not very well written, and the air racing itself breaks many core rules of the sport (diving under other airplanes). The love scene is....awkward. And villain going to such length to try and damage the protagonist's plane and even kill him is something no actual racer would do.

I did appreciate the inclusion of historical information and some real race pilot names, and I appreciate the effort.
