Publisher's summary

Written by renowned royal biographer Robert Hardman and with privileged access to the Royal Family and the Royal Household, this is a brilliant new portrait of the most famous woman in the world and her place in it.

On today's world stage, there is one leader who stands apart from the rest. Queen Elizabeth II has seen more of the planet and its people than any other head of state and has engaged with the world like no other monarch in modern history.

The iconic monarch never ventured further than the Isle of Wight until the age of 20 but since then has now visited over 130 countries across the globe in the line of duty, acting as diplomat, hostess and dignitary as the world stage has changed beyond recognition. It is a story full of drama, intrigue, exotic and sometimes dangerous destinations, heroes, rogues, pomp and glamour, but at the heart of it all, a woman who's won the hearts of the world.

So much in-depth knowledge

This is very long and yet, I didn't want it to end. It is so well done in every respect. If you admire this Queen the way I do, this is an absolute must-read.

Must Read

I already greatly admired and respected the Queen. Reading this book elevated my admiration and respect for Her Majesty.
The audible narration by the author was a bonus. I have recommended the book to friends. I have read it twice myself.

Queen of the world

I enjoyed listening but it took a long time to get through it. I had to relisten to several parts because the narrator’s voice was so soothing it actually put me to sleep!

Respect to the queen

Brings years of respect and joy regarding the queen. All of her years she brought great dignity. Brought tears to my eyes in knowing she loved her country and gm her family.

Fantastic

This is an excellent look at the Queen and her family working on the international stage. Lots of new and interesting information in a storytelling, nonlinear format that holds the interest. The author is the narrator and is excellent. Rather like listening to a friend tell a story. I actually listened non-stop curious to hear "what happens next." Highly recommended.

A wonderful new look at ER’s lifetime of work!

I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this book. Of all the documentaries and books on this subject, Mr Hardman has given a detailed journey through Elizabeth II’s reign as diplomat and brand manager. He leaves me in no doubt that “Queen of the World “ is an apt moniker for this incredible Lady! How could anyone in Great Britain not realize the incredible bang they get for a buck! I mean, what would Great Britain be today without the Queen?? I can tell you! France...and who wants to be France!
