Not What I Was Looking For

I am sure this is a good book and I am just being picky.

I am not sure why I was expecting more life drama than medical/lab/corporate drama. It's not like the synopsis lead me astray.

I wasn't hooked. I found myself delaying on reading more and the only reason I can think of is because I didn't care more about the characters.

Honestly, if it sounds like a fun book, read it. It is fun. It's just not the fun I was looking for, which isn't fair to the book but it's the honest truth.

very unconventional from other cosmic horror i have read

I loved the build up and character development of magenta, I love her personality and unconditional love for doc... and peanut butter

Written with great skill

Ultimately, this story wasn't for me. And that's okay.

What it is, is a very tightly written novel with a compelling protagonist. The author does a great job with tension, making you feel worried about what will happen to the protagonist or what the protagonist will do to somebody else, sometimes both at the same time. I was hoping for more of an anti-hero type angle, but that's on me. Hailey Piper does an excellent job of continuously raising the stakes.

Devious read

A devious dive into a thought most women and men have had. Hailey is brilliant as an author. I enjoyed this work of sharp art.

Great sapphic kaiju romance

A thrilling sapphic Sci fi horror novel that goes beyond it premise into cosmic limitlessness.
The story was excellent and so was the dramatic narration.
