From Wall Street Journal, USA Today best-selling, and RITA Award-winning author Kennedy Ryan comes a captivating second chance romance like only she can deliver....

The boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have....

Dig a little and you’ll find photos of me in the bathtub with Ezra Stern.

Get your mind out of the gutter. We were six months old.

Pry and one of us might confess we saved our first kiss for each other. The most clumsy, wet, sloppy...spectacular 30 seconds of my adolescence.

Get into our business and you’ll see two families, closer than blood, torn apart in an instant.

Twenty years later, my “awkward duckling” best friend from childhood, the boy no one noticed, is a man no one can ignore.

Finer. Fiercer. Smarter.

Taken.

Tell me it’s wrong.

Tell me the boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have.

When we find each other again, everything stands in our way - secrets, lies, promises.

But we didn’t come this far to give up now.

And I know just the move to make if I want to make him mine.

I love this story!!!! This was my first narration by Eboni and I loved it! Jakobi Diem is my favorite male narrator! Kennedy Ryan did it again!!!!

It was a beautiful and unpredictable love story that provided a beautiful narration of cultures, conflicting emotions, drama, shade and passions. I also stan Jakobi Diem and am in love with his voice so I may be a tad bit biased because Ezra and Josiah (BILG) and I are in a relationship (iykyk). Seriously, auntie Kennedy did not hold back with this one and I loved how she gave Kimba a completely separate feel, story, and aura from Lennix which makes this book something you could read separately from the prior two books and not feel totally lost.

One that I wish I could read again!

Kennedy Ryan is such a master of crafting beautiful stories with word mastery skill. I hate for them to end. I’m looking forward to the next set. Please keep writing more and more.

I can’t get enough

Over the past two months Kennedy Ryan has been at the top of my library! She creates stories with such depth and develops her characters so beautifully. I’m so happy that she decided to further Kimba’s storyline and give us an amazing back story while creating such a remarkable love story. It’s easy to see the time and consideration Kennedy Ryan takes in developing characters. Looking up my next read from her now

She Doesn’t Miss!

I loved the sense of hope it gave me for true love to be attainable, no matter how long you wait.

The relevance of this story for working professional black and brown folks.
