Publisher's summary

From Wall Street JournalUSA Today best-selling, and RITA Award-winning author Kennedy Ryan comes a captivating second chance romance like only she can deliver....

The boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have....

Dig a little and you’ll find photos of me in the bathtub with Ezra Stern.

Get your mind out of the gutter. We were six months old.

Pry and one of us might confess we saved our first kiss for each other. The most clumsy, wet, sloppy...spectacular 30 seconds of my adolescence.

Get into our business and you’ll see two families, closer than blood, torn apart in an instant.

Twenty years later, my “awkward duckling” best friend from childhood, the boy no one noticed, is a man no one can ignore.

Finer. Fiercer. Smarter.

Taken.

Tell me it’s wrong.

Tell me the boy who always felt like mine is now the man I can’t have.

When we find each other again, everything stands in our way - secrets, lies, promises.

But we didn’t come this far to give up now.

And I know just the move to make if I want to make him mine.

Ezra & Kimba (aka Tru)

*****Spoiler Alert*****

Audible review. Dual POV. Standalone following the Kingmaker duet. While not required, I recommend reading the duet first as several characters are mentioned that have no relevance to this story and aren't given any detail. I enjoyed both narrators voices but I wish someone would teach Jakobi Diem how to pronounce Bubbe & pho. Trigger warning: cheating is normalized in both the political arena and in both characters' families' lives.

Ezra & Kimba born on the same day, introduced when they were infants and their families were neighbors are now 37 year old professionals. They were separated after their mothers had an affair. 20 years later Ezra has started a school for underserved children and is living with his long time girlfriend and their son. Kimba has overcome her childhood stutter, is a campaign manager and political activist recently diagnosed with perimenopause. When the two finally get together Ezra has just ended his decade long relationship with the mother of his son and hasn't told anyone. They soon find out that she is pregnant with their second child which of course sends Ezra and Kimba in different directions for over a year. Ezra & Kimba reunite for the third time, quickly marry, lose a pregnancy and are pregnant again at the end. JP

Queen Move is a winner worthy of all the ⭐

Let's start with the fact that Kennedy Ryan is one gifted writer and we can all feel honored to read or listen to her words. We are not worthy!!! I feel I need to bow down to her greatness!! The way the story is so beautifully intricate and layered with emotion and twists for the start that as a listener you can't help but get invested and ignore the world just to listen. This is an amazing comparison to the Kingmaker Duet and for sure one of my favorite audios of the year. Okay... Now let's devote so well deserved time to Jakobi Diem and Eboni Flowers. What a powerhouse of a performance!!! Really!! They deserve a huge standing ovation with all the confetti and champagne because they simply took this story and these characters and they SLAYED!!! This is a must listen, worth the credit and well worth the ride. Just pure magic!! Loved it!

They could have tried.

Good story but the male narrator was terrible. They couldn't find someone who could pronounce the Yiddish and Hebrew words correctly?

slow

The story is too slow. The narrators are the only good thing about this book. I couldn't finish it. Bored me.

Queen Move

Let me start off by stating the books that I have read by Kennedy Ryan never disappoint. I may not agree with how she tells the story and what I think should and shouldn’t happen but she always delivers a beautiful HEA in the end and #QueenMove is no different. I love the book & wish she would do a short story update of Ezra and Kimba life.

🎧 AUDIO REVIEW 🎧

AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First of all the audio was brilliant as usual for Kennedy books and I couldn’t wait to keep listening each time I had to stop.

I loved their story, it showed me a lot about how things can be and how powerful women can be.

I loved their romance and felt so sorry for Ezra at points. If your looking for an amazing hero it is him, he sweet, sexy, loving, amazing dad and just couldn’t help love him.

The sweetest kind of love

Kimba & Ezra need their own series! They are officially one of my fave KR couples.
My god this was sooo sweet and cute, KR had me in my feels all the way!
And of course, Eboni Flowers & Jakobi Daaammmnnnn (because he’s that good) did an incredible job with the narration.

Childhood love

It has been a really great story, the sadness and joy of these two people dealing with the rights of the people and there own life ,putting everything on hold for other things ,when they should have put themselves first. If I could have given you more stars I would have done 10

Very good book

I really enjoyed the book. The narrators were great, with each being able to do both male and female characters. I always knew which character was speaking. What I loved most was listening to actual strong women and not the supposed strong women in other books. By that, I mean the women in this book showed true strength and not stubborn for the sake of being stubborn and calling it strength. That is what made this book so enjoyable. For once, I did not find the heroine of a story annoying. This heroine was truly strong and a badass. And the hero was swoon worthy and loyal. Definitely a good read.

Kimba's story

Ezra was Kimba's childhood friend.
They are parted under mysterious discord between their parents.
They meet up again at Kimba's father's funeral, 20 years later.
They knew their future was together, but the past had to be dealt with.

The narration was suitable for the story, but I find many American accents, grating to listen too.

Secrets, second chances and triumph.

I had to read this book before the year was out, and I couldn't put it down.
Kimba and Ezra had be enthralled by their tale from the first page.
Seeing them grow up, gp through the awkward and challenging stage of pre-teens and also navigating the 80's a black child and for Ezra being a biracial child who is a Jew opened a a world of a story not really found out there.
I loved the story of their parents and the camaraderie of two families raising black kids and trying to overcome the difficulty outside trying to out-do your efforts.

Kimba and Ezra as grown up is so well rounded. Life is so complicated when we grow up and Aiko made things as frustrating and awkward and difficult and I liked how kennedy Ryan told this story.

The affair, the open marriage propasal, the lost lovers second chance at love, the para-menopause and struggling to have kids, watching people have kids and also balancing work. And in the back ground.. family secrets.
