Welcome to The Close - a beautiful street of mansions, where gorgeous Stella is the indisputable Queen Bee . . .

It is here that Laura, seeking peace and privacy after her marriage falls apart, rents a tiny studio. Unfortunately, her arrival upsets suspicious Stella - who fears Laura has designs on her fiancé, Al.

When Laura stumbles on the big secret Al is hiding, suddenly Stella's perfectly controlled world, and Laura's future, are threatened.

Taking a chance on beating Al at his own twisted game, these two former strangers are fast becoming friends.

But has Laura forgotten that revenge always comes with a sting in the tail?

Absolutely masterly. She turns her trademark wit and taste for the absurd to The Close . . . Bliss
Fallon's fun, fish-out-of-water tale is full of love-to-loathe characters and a fair few twists
It was unputdownable and such a joy to read! (Alice Feeney)
Perfectly crafted with razor sharp wit, Queen Bee is utterly hilarious and deliciously wry (Nicola Moriarty)
Fallon is a fabulously engaging writer who excels at counter-intuitive plot lines, creates believable protagonists who are as capable of bad behaviour as good . . . Blissful escapism - I adored it
Sharp and hilarious . . . had me turning the pages into the small hours (Louise Candlish)
The brilliant Jane Fallon does it again. Queen Bee is a whip-smart, laugh-out-loud, feel-good kinda novel perfect to curl up on the sofa with (Ali Land)
I love it. I thought it was whip-smart, sassy and gripping (Gillian McAllister)
Jane Fallon's wry observation and razor-sharp wit make for a compelling read
A perfect beach read

I love JF novels but by the 3rd chapter I was struggling to stay interested. I kept going to prove the negative reviews wrong (& I really enjoyed the narration) but the story just doesn't go anywhere. I didn't bond to any character, there were no highs or lows, just a story about a struggling divorced mother and clicky rich women with a few lies thrown around. It passed the time but that's all it did

It was OK to pass the time

Where to start...
Jo Joyner did a great job with the material that they gave her.
¿Are we sure that Jane Fallon wrote this? In general her stories have characters DEVELOPMENT.
Which is NOT what happens here.
In general i read her books because of how relatable the characters are, and how you can blend in the placees/ society that she describes . Spoiler alerte there isn't enough development for you to blend in or relate to the characters.
The book was SO BAD, i almost didn't finished it! (and i'm the type that ALWAYS finishes a book).
The book is extremely superficial, in the firsts chapters you already know the characters, don't expect nothing more. At first you think that there is a story (and being a Jane Fallon fan i expected plot twists), its all superficial and linear.
