Publisher's Summary

Scarred and traumatized ex-Marine Sergeant Joshua Cobb can no longer function amid normal civilization. He's retreated to the mountains of Alaska to live in solitude, where he can battle his personal demons in peace.

Life is harsh in the untamed wild, especially when he has to face other creatures who are also trying to survive. But the bears and wolves and other dangerous animals are no match for the two-legged variety who see Joshua as easy prey.

He has no idea that the injured wolf he rescues will become more than a companion. It will also save his life and show him a love he only believed was possible in fairy tales.

Because the wolf, Qitirin, is more human than anyone could imagine.

Issues with the audiobook recording, not the story

So I got this book on Audible Escape. I love shifter stories and Linda Mooney but there were some issues with the audiobook itself. It jumped around, certain chapters sounded like they were recorded in a bathroom and a lot of words/sentences were repeated. Almost seemed like this book didn't have an audio editor or engineer. As for the story, it was hard to follow because the audiobook itself jumped around kinda like the chapters are out of order. One minute they are meeting, next chapter they are hunting partners, next they have killed something, then we're back to their meeting again. It wasn't a memory, it was just jumbled up. The whole thing just skips around. But with that being said, what I did gleam from the story, I loved the characters and the writing was great as always. I think this book would be a lot better if someone just fixed the audiobook. Like I said it needs an editor and an engineer to fix the audio quality.

Editing is desperately needed.

Editing is desperately needed. I thought Audible would at least have had someone listen and verify what is being submitted to them before putting them on their site. Chapters are out of order and repeated, as well as whole lines and various words. Hard to tell if the story was really any good or not. I think it could have been, even with as short as it was but it's too hard to tell really.

Poor reading, e-copy story is very good, not audio

There are numerous occasions of repetition from a few words to a whole section while a large chunk of story is left out. I reported this several years ago when returning my purchased copy for refund. I'm very disappointed to find out that nothing has been done to correct the multitudes of errors in this Audible copy in the interim. Whose responsibility is it to quality check Audible recordings? The author or Audible.com? Or maybe both? It's a shame that the audio experience is ruined by this failure. If you want to truly appreciate the story get a book copy or e-copy. It's truly worth the effort to read it for yourself.

Good story, bad production and editing

this was a great short story but the editing and production was very bad. Jumping around in the story and repeating chapters. Also probably skipped chapters because of mentioning things that were not in the story before. Narrator repeating words or clearing his voice and repeating. Otherwise the narrator did a good job on the different voices.

Good story, terrible production

Would you try another book from Linda Mooney and/or Todd Van Linda?

yes

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator was great

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Qitirin?

The production was terrible. Chapters are skipped, or repeated. Some portions are louder than the rest.

Any additional comments?

I couldn't finish it due to the production quality.
