Awesome bundle!

I would say this bundle if two books hacking elwith Python is truly helpful for not only beginners but also for skilled persons, it explains concepts bin plain language where other defer to technical jargon too early, I have been facing some troubles to seting up enenviromnt to start with Python hacking I was looking for some softwares and this guide helped me through all like from setting up IDEs to start Python programming to advance level. It not too long , not too complicated, a consise listen which will save your time and give you deep knowledge in short time.

Lot of information given

There is a lot of information to look for, even if this is personal system, but it is valuable information and you need to know just how much is out there that can be used by hacker.

Excellent!

It teaches hands-on python skills while giving enough detail to understand the various codes and too technical so that anyone can be a master of programming.

Programming concepts are explained well

I am a programming newbie and decided to learn Python as I'm told it is one of the easiest language to learn. I was pleasantly surprised with this book! This truly is a book for beginners and gives great content on Python. I also learn the two functional components of a computer it is the hardware and software. Suggested this book. It starts with setting up an environment both in windows and Linux. Programming concepts are explained very clearly along with examples. This book covers all the basic points identified with Linux working framework.

Provide me with basic information

I am really happy to have this book, the content is very nice and basically for beginners with little or no idea on programming. It was able to provide me with basic information which i would be needing in other to get started.

Gives fundamental ideas!

It's a great introduction to Python and Cryptography from one of the authors whose books first taught me how to program. One thing that makes books really stand out is that he really teaches you how to do something with Python while also imparting you with knowledge of the fundamentals of programming and the syntax and features of Python. This book doesn't assume you know anything about programming or python, yet is still engaging if you do know how to program. That's a feat in itself.

Helpful introduction to the cipher

Each chapter starts with a helpful introduction to the cipher and a list of topics covered in the chapter. You then get to see the full Python program for the task at hand, and then the author discusses the code line by line or section by section. This could be overwhelming to a beginning programmer, to sift through dozens or hundreds of lines of code. But the alternative, starting simply and building up the code, runs into the problem of the user not knowing exactly where new code goes or how much each block is indented, and so on.

Great encryption technique!

Decent content, should keep a beginner busy for some time. I picked project in there and modified it so it can decode and code stuff the way I like it and added a some what UI to it. Covers most of the basics, not very deeply though, but in my opinion good enough. Would recommend, but if your looking into cyber security, look else where, as the encryption technique in here is really just practice for newer engineers. If your looking to start your python career somewhere and specifically cyber security, this is much better than the other books on the basics.

Plenty of helpful materials!

I like the book itself and teaching Python through cryptography is definitely a different approach to the subject that I found to be entertaining. You can also tell the author cares about the subject and moves through teaching Python via simple and historical ciphers up to the more modern. The book does not go into OOP, but there are plenty of materials that cover it so that is forgivable especially as this format is explained to be more available to a wider audience. It doesn't require the dedication of getting through some much more thorough texts such as Learning Python.

Useful!

I can now begin to understand how this can be useful for scientific applications. It has most of what any Python beginner would need, particularly the codes. This is really worth recommending!

Great explanation of topic!

Author has a unique method of explaining complex terms in simple ways, and breaking down the process into simple steps, so I don't ever feel like I am just copying and pasting code, but I can actually reproduce the steps and apply them to another scenario. Thanks to author.

Helpful in my progression

I have been using this book in conjunction with one or two other books and I feel I have made more progress in learning to program than through using any other method. I am a very learn at my own pace sort of person and this has really helped me in my progression.

Great book about encryption and programming

This is a great book about encryption and programming. This introduction into these topics is absolutely amazing. I also have Al's other Python book about automating the boring stuff. The book reads like he is right in front of you, teaching you the fun side of programming. He shows you a task, then teaches the part of programming you need to know to accomplish that task. These tasks build upon one another, and by the end of the book, you are wowing your friends with your mad skills. Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in programming and/or encryption.

Great intro to the basics cryptography

In addition to being a great intro to the basics cryptography, this book does a really good job teaching the basics of python itself: loops, string manipulation, and the various mathematical expressions. (Automate the Boring Stuff, also by the author, goes into more practical things and I also highly recommend it)

Nice introduction to programming

It also gives a nice introduction to the history and importance of encryption, as well as the potential dangers we face in the current battle over mandatory backdoors, although you can happily ignore these tidbits if you happen to align yourself with an authoritarian regime ;) Either way, the exercises included should be a fun way to start building your first Python programs.

Great introduction of programming

If you are looking for a fun way to get your kids (or yourself) into programming and learn a bit about cryptography along the way, I highly recommend this book. I went through all of the examples myself first and was impressed by how the basics of Python were introduced throughout, with some slightly more advanced topics being included as well. Most of the same material you would find in an online introduction to programming course are covered here, in a more entertaining fashion (in my opinion).

Great book to learn python programming

Great book to learn python programming and get some understanding of cryptography while you are at it. I am sort of a beginner in python and have started injecting python tools and scripts into my day to day work life, but its mostly stuff I picked up from the net, stack overflow and tutorials. I needed to 'formalize' this knowledge to speak with some confidence. I like that this book helps me to do that with the added bonus that I can get some of my fragmented cryptography cleared up as well. I think this is a great book for for most people new to python.

Made me interested and motivated!

My biggest gripe with most introductory programming books is that they are boring. Authors will often use examples such as number guessing games, grocery lists, and other toy programs to introduce more complex concepts. Cryptography is something that nearly everybody has heard of and is interesting even to non-programmers, making it a great way for new programmers to stay interested and motivated.

Well explained each cryptographic method

I really enjoyed this book, and feel that it's more for someone already familiar with Python and programming in general and at most a senior mid-level developer. It was a little tedious in the beginning to get through the initial portions that were very basic to me, but I endured as I could tell that each concept was a stepping stone to the next. I felt that he did a great job in explaining each cryptographic method as well as eventually building, and expanding, a Python library as you go along.
