Publisher's summary

Peyton
I was having a cold coffee with my best friend Vivian when the whole world went upside-down.
Now there are gazelle-glowing-like-a-light-bulb aliens running around eating everybody, and enormous dark purply-colored aliens that have a strong resemblance to bats, dive bombing from the sky.
One of the bats says I'm his and I need to ease his mating rage. Yeah, not happening.
Except, they tell me the fate of my world comes down to me sacrificing myself to him. Maybe this won't go like I planned. But I figure, if I have to bend to the big guy's will, I'm damn well getting something out of it.

Tahk
My Pythe is a human.
Weak as they are, I cannot fathom how she was chosen for me. The Commander of all Dahk.
But then she rises up for her species and I cannot help but notice her firece heart.
I will slaughter all who dare harm her and her species, and she will be mine.

*Warning: For listeners 18 years and older. Contains explicit sexual situations, possible triggers, dark themes, and violence. Start of a series featuring these characters and multiple others, but do not fret, Happy Endings all around!

To be continued?

Outrageous! Great book but the ending made me mad - I hate cliff hangers! How do I get the next book?

Awesome Read

I really enjoyed this book, I'm anxious to see the other books. This writer is really good, her description was so good. There were action, humor, and vulnerability. I liked it a lot.

pythen

This was a different take on romantic love. The main female character was kind of grating and all over the place. Did not care for her. The Male was great.

Just ok

I think I really could have liked this book more if the human characters weren't so annoying. They made idiotic decisions, whined (Vivian) entirely too much and basically made what could have been a five star book into more of a 2 1/2 stars. If you're looking for a book that has potential and you can ignore the stupidity and whining, you might actually enjoy this book. If you, like me, like your human characters to have a little backbone, then save your credit and move on.

Fantastic!

Creative, funny, imaginative, riveting, and best of all relatively realistic in that events seem logical. I never once rolled my eyes at something that happend in the story! I can't wait for more from this author!

Narrator is also very good. Has a pleasant voice and does a good job!

Complete the audiobook adaptation!

Characters are entertaining and charming. Plot is exciting and actions/decisions not so far fetched for human politics and practice. There is humor and surprisingly the pets are used for a cheap emotional moment as collateral damage. Put the entire series on Audible.

Exciting sci-fi romance!

This was a great audiobook. The narrator did a good job of voicing different characters and had great inflection. The story begins with an average girl who met her engaged girlfriend to go over wedding plans. In the midst of their coffee and talk, a rumble began that feels like an earthquake. Rushing out of the coffee shop, they begin to hear weapons firing. The engaged friend’s fiancé calls frantically telling them to get out of the city. They head north to the heroines farm in Idaho, and end up hitching a ride with another couple. Still unsure of what is happening, they soon find out as they encounter huge eerie white aliens with no eyes but rows and rows of teeth! They witness these things eating people, one of them being the guy that had been driving. On the run now, they stop to get gas at a remote service station where they meet an old guy with his shotgun. Trying to explain what’s happened, another group of the white aliens arrive and they’re terrified. Suddenly a different kind of ship comes down with aliens who resemble bats (dark with wings and claws. One of them is the hero and the group is rescued by them. Once back on the ship, the heroine is startled to find out she’s the commander’s mate. There is a lot more to this story, and I don’t want to spoil it. Warning: this book ends on a big cliffhanger and the second audiobook isn’t out yet.

Great Story but cliffhanger

Very good plot and I loved the aliens attempts at learning the language. Humans portrayed pretty accurately. My only gripe is the cliffhanger ending which I never do unless the sequel is ready to go. Not sure how I missed this smh
